But expect they will also place a high value on character and leadership this year. Need young players to not just fit into the culture they are trying to build but also help drive it and hopefully be more likely to stick around.

If Gold Coast draft 3 midfielders with 4, 6, and 8 (Bowes, SPS, Taranto would blow our minds but still looks a real possibility) then would not be surprised if they look at Berry at pick 10.

Has the height to develop into 3rd tall type or a big mid but most importantly sounds like a massive tick for leadership and character. Will be hard to resist this year of all years.

How many of those 3 will make it and how many will crash and burn? Thats is why they might grab all three

Indeed. That;s an outdated comparison, haven't changed that since before I really watched Dylan

Interesting you compare SPP to priddis. Unlike priddis, SPP has pace, xfactor and is versatile to move through a few positions. Only thing comparable is their bad kicking and contested abilities.

Yeah maybe Priddis wasn't the right pick, as SPP is far quicker than Priddis. I was mainly referring to their inside capabilities and contested attributes.

The Giants use Picks 54, 67, 71, 72 and 73 to match, and go 10 points into deficit in 2017, equivalent to a Pick 73.

Sorry if it been covered before, but didn't the AFL introduce a rule this year that FS/Academy teams need to hold the same number of picks as spots on the list? So using multiple picks to match a bid is illegal?

Is this something we will just have to wait until draft night so see how it pans out?

I really have no idea what the AFL are doing. They have made close to no effort do disclose how teams are actually supposed to match bids so I'm just going to continue from last years' system.

That's who he said he aspires to be in his Tomorrow's Heroes video, so that's a more likely fit for his comparison.

As the AFL cut their list size mid year, GWS are allowed to have more picks than free list spots in this years draft. But next year that loophole won't be allowed.

Potentially. A big factor in his ability is his leadership, having captained SA this year. There are plenty of inside midfielders this year, I can see him moving down the order, unless Port Adelaide want to pluck a homegrown boy in the 2nd round.
