I'm not tech-savvy but there are some changes going to be made for Chrome and Firefox that will apparently diminish the effectiveness of ad_blockers and other privacy enabling extensions that are used with browsers. I only use uBlock Origin to block ads on youtube and other websites but it seems the changes that Google and Mozilla are intending to implement next year might put an end to them.
If ad_blockers suddenly didn't work would it effect how you use the internet? I had the misfortune recently of experiencing the bigfooty site without uBlock and it isn't something that I could overcome if the changes to the 2 biggest browsers happens as reported.
