Gday guys,

Just wondering what Addams' contract situation is; how he has been progressing; and your thoughts as to his role (if any) in the next couple of years..

Not sure of his contract situation, but would need to show more in 2011 to be retained I would have thought. Hasn't had many opportunities, but hasn't exactly grabbed the ones given.
 
Fairly sure he's contracted for next year... he'd want to get his skates on in 2011, otherwise would be trade bait you'd think. Has undoubted talent, some have raised questions as to his attitude and application.

Was caught a few times on the weekend.

Looks slow for mine, needs to improve his explosiveness.

Its there, because his defensive pressure is quite good and at times
Maric can be pacey.

Theres a lack of awareness or he needs speed off the mark,
I havent worked out which one yet.

But, in short, Id be happy to trade Maric for a mid second rounder.

Hasnt shown much at all...I think we would have to settle for a third rounder
 
have heard he doesn't exactly set the world on fire at VFL level, but he played really, really well v the Swans I thought and was unlucky to get dropped.

Doesn't help his cause when we've got a lot of small/mid-sized forwards to choose from I guess.

Next year will be a big one for him, definitely.
 
Maric has shown very little thus far, and as such, would command very little at the trade table.

With this in mind, it would be ridiculous to trade him at this point.

I actually think he has made some progress this year. For the most part, his VFL form has been very good, and in addition to that, the only game he played for the senior side this year was pretty decent as well. Whilst there are question marks over his application, I think he's worth persisting with.

Aussie is seriously one of the most overated players on the Melbourne list, besides a couple good goal asists in the sydney game has had a very poor season to date in not just the AFL but the VFL also. Was very luck to regain hes spot this season let alone the last 3 games he has played, surely the next to make way for Moloney or Grimes.

Yes he has had an average year and yes Aussie can be a touch overrated, but the guy has talent. He played a very solid small forwards game against the tigers. He reads the play well, tackles well and adds excitement. He has definitely been superior to Maric so far this year.
