Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that since Eade has been coach, Sydney have been belted by the Crows at Football aprk every time they've played there.

Can that record be turned around this week?

yes, I think you are right there BMD

Last win over the Crows was in 1995 with Barassi. Actually untill 1996, we had a very good record against the Crows at Footy Park. It was almost a 'happy hunting ground' actually.

Since then I think Eade has beaten the power twice at Footy Park (1997, 1998) but no joy with the Crows.

As usual, we will have trouble trying to contain their superior skill. However if come 'ready to play' like we have for the past two weeks, I would expect the Crows to wilt under our pressure and aggression.

I'm pretty confibident, but recent history also shows that if the Crows are given room and time then their skillful ball play could leave us floundering.

We are not playing 'beautiful' footy at the moment but we are showing alot of opponents that we have grit and deternination in bucketloads.

... and don't forget - our real talent is in the coaches box, not on the field.

cheers

Your last comment is very true, BSA.

I hear the weather's been bad in Adelaide too. If that keeps up it does us no favours, as we suck in the wet.

Yep, from a crow fan perspective, I don't fear the team, I fear the coach. :) Don't get me wrong, the swans are a good solid team, they have some very dangerous players, but the real threat this week comes from the coaches box. I just get the feeling Eade will have some plan to stifle the crows runners, disable our running defence and most importantly, STOP DARREN JARMAN. :)

Our ability to overcome this is very debateable I think, one of Ayresy's weaknesses is an inability to counter an opposition coaches' positional moves and tactics. This will be an even game, probably not a pretty game (I think the flood will make another prominent appearance this week) and I only hope the increased crowd due to the opening of the new stand (54,000 max now) will help get us over the line. :)

A few showers today and tomorrow but after that it will be dry and sunny until Sunday's game

The weather won't help the Swans

This is an 8 point game if ever there was one. Whoever wins this will make the finals in my view.

Crows need to find some form at home and with the confidence from last week should do so.

Centre square will be vital - if the Crows runners can move the ball quickly into the forward line then we are a huge chance.

Interesting to see whether Eade goes for Stafford Ball or Goodes against the very impressive Matthew Clarke.

Also, be warned, Vardy is cherry ripe to kick a bag!

Remember the 98 final at the SCG?

This is the most important game of the season for both teams

Both teams are equal on pts, and this is a chance for one of the teams to make a break on the teams that are equal on pts with them

Simply with home adv.
Crows by 18-30 ;)

I don't agree that this is the most important game of the year for the Swans. Even with a loss this week there is a good chance of finishing with 12 wins (West Coast, St Kilda, Melbourne and the Kangaroos at the SCG are all winnable) so I'm looking at the Adelaide game as a bonus or maybe insurance against a poor effort later.

For Adelaide it is much more crucial as. to get 4 more wins without this week, they need to beat 3 of Melbourne and the Kangaroos in Melbourne and Port, Hawthorn and Carlton in Adelaide assuming a win against Freo at Subi. It's not an easy run home so this week is make or break for the Crows, I think.

yes indeed

The last thing I wanted to see last Friday night was Peter Vardy having a 'night out' against StKilda.

That makes three 'danger men' we have to look after on Sunday, and just when we think we have Jarman, McLeod and Vardy covered, whats the bet it will be time for Matty Robran to put in a blinder ?

Like I always say with Sydney v Adelaide, if we can't stop your skillful ball players, we will be in heaps of sh|t. Likewise, for you guys, if you can't do anything to match our aggression and hardness at the ball, then you could be struggling to find your rythym.

Last few visits to Football Park have been pretty terrible for Sydney , which is a shame because we used to have a good record there, Whilst I don't think you guys are capable of thrashing us this time, I would say the Crows certainly have an advantage and will go into the game as favourites.

cheers

If Paul Kelly plays in the forward line I would imagine Mark Bickley would pick him up

That would be an absolute classic with two of the toughest players in the competition.

Kelly is a bit more brilliant on his day than Bicks but with Kelly's dodgy bobdy it should be a pretty even battle.

Stenglein will pick up Wayne Schwass leaving Creswell to battle it out with Goodwin and McLeod in the midfield.

Hart or maybe Goody will take Ricky O the most dangerous player on the field from our point of view.

Hopefully Burton will be back also, so look forward to some screamers. (He was robbed by Goodes for the rising star)
