$5.6B buys plenty more hospital beds, equipment & clinical staff of you can find them... even in the most expensive jurisdiction in the country.Their Government posted a $5.6billion surplus.
If they can't cope, we are all f’ed.
Also, an ALP Government posting a surplus!!!

Irrelevant as it's not zero like you stupidly claimed! Can you please provide the statistics of where COVID ranks in the last two years as a contributor to death or severe illness among immunosuppressed children?

Surely they already are. I can understand some of the public happy about the idea of borders being shut and being kept "safe", but surely they have to be asking why carry a massive surplus if their health system is ****ed. Thats why he's kept the borders shut, its face saving because he knows he would be belted when the system didn't cope. That's a very good question that WA journalists should be asking him.
Come on Pete.. I’m going to remain civil and respectful because I made a promise I would.
But… Surely you dont honestly think that pre covid the parents of children suffering from Cancers, heart conditions or other comorbidities that weakened their immune systems werent doing everything they possibly could to protect their sick child from seasonal viruses like the flu, including isolating themselves from the outside world at times, wearing masks, getting their families vaccinated against viruses and probably disinfecting the hell out of everything?
Only $2b more than what the young american girl who won this morning at the Australian open stands to inherit from her father apparently..bit of trivia$5.6B buys plenty more hospital beds, equipment & clinical staff of you can find them... even in the most expensive jurisdiction in the country.
Just got back from ADEL .....did the obligatory catchup with my Sister, who is the polar opposite to me ......she's a big smoker, had cancer a couple of years back ....her husband has emphysema, still smokes & has a list of ailments that makes you wonder how he's still aliveYes. Because unvaccinated people are 9 times more likely to end up IN ICU and only end up making things worse. Deploy them in non patient contact positions, but they cannot be on the front lines. It isn’t rocket science.
No, a child died in WCH from covid in the last month, so you can't claim there have been no deaths... as yet more fake Slippery facts.Totally get it. Anybody would do the same. But it’s always been that way.
What I’m saying is there’s no special consideration that should be given to COVID above anything else. The data clearly shows this.
Look. There were 1805 deaths in 2020 of people between the ages of 0-19. That’s all cause deaths. Want to know how many were from COVID?
Zero. Not a single one!
In 2021/2022, the number is six. (That’s tested positive. We don’t know the extent to which COVID contributed to these deaths).
COVID as a cause of death among all children — even immunocompromised children — barely even registers on the radar.
The data couldn‘t be clearer on this.
I‘m not sure what else you want me to say.
You people are talking about a “threat” that is paper thin, it is less than the flu.
In terms of your child, if you were not doing any of this for the flu, than doing it for COVID is objectively an overreaction.
That’s just a fact.
The State Govt's are simply making calls which reflects their polling .....all reference to "listening to Health Experts" has disappeared from the vernacularIt depends what the actual public think though, that's they key.
A right wing media outlet being critical of a Labor politician isn't really a watershed moment.
That might be Burnside, but Marion is still packed during the weekAlso too opening up and living with the virus like certain people on here have been pushing for hasn't been the panacea either.
Shopping centres are like ghost towns, I was at Burnside last night and there would have only been 50 people there.
People are essentially insolating themselves with or without lockdowns. The only difference is that after a lock down people then feel somewhat safe about leaving their house rather than the current situation where the fear of getting COVID remains a permanent thing.
They're seeing that it's still an economic train wreck living with the virus so that's most probably not helping either.
I doubt it. It might make his popularity east of the Nullarbor take a hit - but those aren't the people voting for him. WA residents love him for keeping them safe. Will be interesting to watch the polls after this McGowan decision. I reckon his high approval rating may start to slide after this major broken promise.
This may end up helping ScoMo in the upcoming election to gain back some ground in WA.
Are people really afraid to leave their house…..
Who are these people?
Totally get it. Anybody would do the same. But it’s always been that way.
What I’m saying is that where children are concerned there’s no special consideration that should be given to COVID above anything else. The data clearly shows this.

I gather there would also be a small number in other states too

The Morrison Government’s long-foreshadowed, long-desired pivot to a “we can’t be ****ed anymore” approach to pandemic and economic management is not yet yielding the promised results, the strategy apparently failing to account for how people, economies and viruses behave. Admittedly paying less attention to ******* everything is probably good advice for managing anxiety on a personal level, but on a level of governance and logistics hakuna matata is a less than ideal philosophy.
Atop this shitshow and finally getting his “let ‘er rip” wishes after being ignored by state premiers for years – Daniel Andrews in particular, but all of them to a degree – sits Scott John Morrison, Australia’s Prime Minister for the next few months.
As disaffected by parliamentary politics as I and a staggering number of younger people now are, outcomes like this and dead-eyed mannequins like Morrison are why elections matter. There is a fundamental difference between the effectiveness of an administration that believes in the worth of government and one that thinks the exercise is a lucrative waste of time. Beliefs such as these become self-fulfilling prophecies: governments that don’t believe in the worth of government are fairly ******* worthless.

I stand corrected she wasn't in the WCH, but she did have covid. This is every parents fear & hopefully we won't see any more like this. From COVID or infected, but died from other causes?

I've talked to actual, real life people in Perth today, and they tell me the opposite. They are heart broken and completely bewildered.I doubt it. It might make his popularity east of the Nullarbor take a hit - but those aren't the people voting for him. WA residents love him for keeping them safe.
Dumbfounding isnt it..Just got back from ADEL .....did the obligatory catchup with my Sister, who is the polar opposite to me ......she's a big smoker, had cancer a couple of years back ....her husband has emphysema, still smokes & has a list of ailments that makes you wonder how he's still alive
Yet I discover the whole family, including their grown up children are not vaccinated ....and have no intentions of getting vaccinated
You might think I was surprised ....nope, didn't even bother questioning her
Anyone in that family that catch's CoVid will die ......you just can't rationalise with some people & that includes all matters health, religion, and politics
She did. I remember this one well. Put a scare in us.I stand corrected she wasn't in the WCH, but she did have covid. This is every parents fear & hopefully we won't see any more like this.
Said with such certainty!Anyone in that family that catch's CoVid will die ......you just can't rationalise with some people & that includes all matters health, religion, and politics
