Sorry? Are you blaming Freo fans for the poor crowd?

If money wasn't a factor more Freo fans would be there. Obviously it's cheaper overall for Adelaide people and they should be expected to provide the bulk of the crowd, but cheap/expensive is all relevant, some people might really battle to go to all weeks of the finals, especially larger families. I'm not about blaming, just sayin that the price rise is a real factor I believe.

That's like saying the grand final didn't sell out because centre square still had a couple of packages left.

Not really. These weren't expensive tickets. They were just normal cheap ones

Id say there would have been a fair number of Crows supporters who decided to save for a plane ticket & trip next week and may not be able to afford three (maybe four) finals tickets in a row. Pick your games.

It's not a suprising crowd like that from the city of Adelaide they've got no nrl or super rugby team a poorly supported a-league team, the worst attended non new expansion afl team and the cities biggest sporting event's a V8 race.

Price of tickets can't be a reason, surely? They were always going to have 2 home finals. If you can't afford both then you would save your cash for the semi final or prelim. Unless 13,000 Crows fans are morons who can't budget more than a week ahead?

And I'm saying that is pathetic. Every Perth to Adelaide flight for Thurday and Friday was sold out. Perth based fans have a legitimate excuse for not being the re.

Don't underestimate the non go ahead with the Olympic Dam mine, this has been a huge kick in the guts for the state, plus the Carter Holt Harvey imbroglio with the state government, plus the power price hikes have hurt middle Australia, the sooner Gillard is gone the better, bring back Rudd!

When the Bulldogs or Roos with much smaller supporter bases get a crowd like this they are lambasted, with an Adelaide club its the cost of the tickets

I'm not young if that's what you're infering. So out of a whole city, only 28000 (assuming there is 3000 dockers fans there) people can afford to go to the footy?

Or 28000 adelaide members out of 46000 are only able to afford it.

Come again. Tickets were available to general public up to today..

Why would people who aren't Adelaide or Freo fans go? Not everyone in Adelaide follows football.

It's no worse than Cats v Freo last week. I don't see the fuss.
So Geelong in Melbourne got 45k
Adelaide in Adelaide got 31k
You fail to see which is worse? I'm not sure you're the brightest fella around

It was a disappointing crowd, no doubt about it. But there are factors.

The 8:15pm timeslot would have been a big factor. Its absolute chaos getting out of AAMI Stadium, so you would expect to get home at about 12am, which is not ideal.

Ticket prices would be the next factor. They are pretty expensive, especially if you were going as a family. Then possibly saving up for next week and possibly a GF (Yes, it is still possible).

Bandwagon supporters losing hope would be another small factor.

Is 31,000 a pass, not at all. But it could have been avoided. Put the game on at 7:20pm and lower the prices would have got it near 40,000 I think.

EDIT: As the above poster pointed out, the Royal Adelaide Show is also on right now.
