It is impossible that our list is 95% of Ports now, never mind if they got yet another $7-800k a year player. I reckon they already have about a dozen.

So you're saying not to jump to conclusions, then conclude that because his favourite player growing up is roo, he is coming to us or having lunch with roo?

I think my assumption isn't lazy, it's probably just the most simplest and probable at this stage.

Saying things everyone else is saying like he was a crow fan or he wants to go to a club that's successful right now (which could change in a year, see Melbourne) or the potential of the youth in a squad, all these theories don't mean anything. It's mostly money and best deal. Hence why I think discussions will start between Dawson, crows and poort when poort finish their season. It's a pretty level headed assumption.

Main thing in Port's favour is they are in the premiership window.

Sydney need a Ruck, so they will demand Port’s first pick and Hayes. Port will offer first pick and Ladhams. Reluctant to let Hayes go as he will be a very good ruck moving fwd and Lycett is now 29. Ladhams isn’t a first ruck material. If Port give up Hayes they could screw themselves in years to come if they don’t take advantage of current premiership window

Hickey finished 6th in their BnF and he missed games, they also rate very highly Naismith who has had injury issues but is out of their academy.

The they also have Sinclair who played some good games when Hickey went down......

Probably depends, was it a case of the offer from us or Port was to good to refuse (with being in SA one of the factors) and he knows where he’s going. OR something changed in his life and now going home was a big priority, he knows that offers will come from both clubs and he’s waiting to see which deal is more attractive. It wouldn’t be the first time the second scenario has occurred.

Nah , you don't make life changing decisions without being pretty sure where you're going, not given the time Sydney had their offer on the table.

He already knows where he's heading, only thing that could change that now would be his preferred destination club not being able to satisfy Sydney's requirements which is highly unlikely.

I never said no discussions had taken place, rather no serious discussions finalising a club & salary.

He knows he is in demand so making a decision to come home without locking something in is no risk.
