Don’t think we should be listing players twice. Would prefer we only list them once (I understand they can play multiple positions, but as a depth chart we should only list them once in their preferred position.

id also have a ruck/forward position (frampton, berg, TT fall into this)

I think Chayce Jones should only be in the defender category. That's where he established himself in the starting 22 this season. He may move into the midfield eventually but for now he is a defender.

Josh Worrell is taller than Borlase, not sure which is in the wrong category, probably Borlase.

Yes he can lock down defenders, can he do this at AFL, he is more Jake Kelly's height.

I kind of took it as the mid-defender role covered both that and a third tall (which Worrell is).

I like this kind of analysis. Here’s a Q tho-

1. is the idea that you assess depth in each position, so that a player can appear in multiple positions if they could play in that position?
OR
2. Is it about listing each player once in their best position?

I guess it depends on what it is used for. I see it as being a measure of depth (!) so that it will show what positions need more players recruited to cover possible injuries. So option 1 makes sense to me for that purpose.

Also, I assume ‘running defenders’ means attacking defenders ie ppl you don’t really look to for hard lockdown defence? And the other three categories all are players whose primary role is to to lockdown?

I’d probably swap the category ‘wingmen’ with ‘outside midfielders/wings’.

Option 1 is what I was thinking.
Yep, that's what I meant for running defenders.
You're probably right with outside mids

For completeness Andrew McPherson still in in 2x

I edited this to include ppl in roles they *could* play. I’m not saying they *should* play there, just that they could if we were stretched in that position.

I guess not surprising but there’s huge overlap in my running defenders and outside mids/wing list.

I will continue to beat my too-many-kpds drum. We have almost as much depth in KPDs as in mids!
