Was pumped to watch it again when i got home, but then remembered i only recorded the game, not the pre-game and missed it

Want to see the full thing again. Does anyone have it?
It'll be on Youtube soon enough I'm sure, but videos of full games tend not to last very long before removal. I was one of the thousands still lining up at the gate when it happened :$

Round 17, 1991 playing Carlton at princes park. Epic win in the wet, pure mud. Was watching live with friends, sat just behind the Carlton dug out,

Michael Murphy, the ex glenelg hard man was playing full forward

must’ve been the 3rd quarter, and he was wrestling the Carlton FB (can’t remember who), and almost as if it were in slow motion you could see him swing his fist, with an arc that looked like it came from near his ankles and BOOM

the Carlton defender copped it in the head and literally went down like a sack of shit.

changed the tenor of the game, which was a real arm wrestle and we’d been up all match. We were being challenged and this was late 3rd/early 4th quarter

Murphy was a freaking mad dog, but he was genuinely tough.

there was the equivalent of a sonic boom all round the ground after that.

it was sickening and enlivening at the same time.

the biggest roundhouse I’ve ever seen land clean on anyone

in the wet and the mud, that set a tone that we would not be pushed around

Murphy was suspended obviously, can’t remember for how long. Reckon we had a better view than the umpire anyhow

for a team long accused of being too soft, that was violent thuggery that sent a message

edit:

From the great Klug:
“We had been consistently flogged in Victoria prior to that so it was important we stood up, Graham Cornes and particularly Neil Kerley stressed that it was time we took a stand.

“We were almost given permission to be a little bit naughty on the field and rough them up, to try and shake ourselves into gear by doing that. “

safe to say ol Murph got the message!

Add ‘Texan’s 10 in game 250’ to the list
Kicking 10 is a rare event - it hasn't been done since 2021. It was a stroke of luck that his 20th game came against one of the worst AFL teams in the modern era. It was simply the perfect day out for the great man.

Same as Lynch on some way. Had a day out against a poor team Toms teammates looked for him
