You completely misunderstood the point.

It’s possible that our drafting is bad, or our development bad, or both are bad (I think probably both are bad). The problem is that it’s really hard to know which:

1. Because you can never ever have a control group to compare to, and there are so many variables
2. Because so few players move to and from our club by trades to see if players get better here or at other clubs.

On point 2, there is almost no data. What data there is doesn’t look too bad in very recent years, but it doesn’t prove anything because there’s so little data and there’s way too many variables to make a confident judgement.
