Im driving down to melbourne to take the young fella to play Auskick on the G saturday. Couldnt pass it up but have the Itenerary settled to be back at the room by 7 to watch the game on ther TV. Spewing as Adelaide is a shorter drive and had it pencilled in until recently. Spewing actually as by all reports the venue is smashing. Anyhow looking at the calender I might go back down for the doggies game later in the year

From someone who's never been to Adelaide (not since I was a little tacker anyway) can someone explain what the previous arrangement was like? How far away was AAMI Stadium from the CBD? How would it be compared to Melbourne? Short tram/train ride away like the MCG (from Flinders/SC Station)?

Bloody keen to get over there next year for a game against Port Adelaide.

Artic Park was a bus rude that would take half hour at least. Like going from MEL CBD to St Kilda at a guess. BUT the stadium it self was a shit hole and when you filled it full of Crows fans then it was unbearable! One pub in walking distance and **** all decent restaurants.

New stadium is mint, you can walk from anywhere in the CBD or Nrth Adelaide. BUT still full of pricks!

I'll be having a beer pregame level 5 of southern stand overlooking the city. Good spot for a drink. Come and say hi, I'll be the one with hot wife!!

Strath it is! I'll be there for a beer, but if we win as a young bloke I might have to take my efforts further in to town and wear the guernsey with pride all night!

My inlaws are near TTP so most car journeys to AAMI involved a trek across town, past the Port supporters housed at Yatala (sp?). The thing that shits most visitors driving to an event like a game at West Lakes, where AAMI Hole is located Spitz, is that the drive is bereft of freeways and involves stop start stop start frustration on clogged roads through a million sets of lights. It always reminded me of driving to a game at Moorabbin from Templestowe using Warrigal Rd back in the late 80's. Great days......shit drive!

Glad Adelaide Oval was developed for AFL Footy. I certainly won't miss the old joint, except for it's closeness to ADL Airport.

I remember staying there before the Prelim in 2007 and getting a cab ride from the hotel to the ground with pharro and Rick Aylett.

Laids got into the hotel lift on the AM of the game and I was in there in an NM polo. He barely mumbled something in my direction as he had the most intense look on his face of all time. Very highly strung bloke.
Gees Pres, Lileasy and I stayed there as well for Port Preliminary Final game and we too caught a lift with the coach but the night before. They players hung out in the foyer area a fair bit while we there which meant Lileasy was always at me to go sit in the foyer.

Eventually I just left him there and let the players babysit him.

Used to live down the bay and can only imagine how good it would be to jump on the tram to the footy!

Used to go to adelaide oval with my grandpa as a young lad fort he tests and sanfl catching the train from the old Marion station.

I would have gone to so many more games as a young fella!

There are plenty of decent bars around the joint if people are looking for things after.

Leigh st and peel st are two smaller melbourne-esque laneway styles that have some pretty bloody good bars. Suss out proof on anster st too, the bloke who manages the bar is a Roos lad too!

Open training session was awesome! Big turnout, managed to get a spot on the race when they were all heading in so filled the guernsey up with signatures!

As for the actual training, not much going on, a couple of drills then just shots at goal and sussing out the oval!

All in all the players were there for the fans and it was much appreciated!

Enjoyed the open training last night. Due to the large numbers, only got two pictures, with Azza & Lachie. Chuffed though, Lachie promised me a huge game for my supercoach team. :D
