Geez the mask police were out in force for the port v ess game.

Even half off your nose... mask on mate!

woman in line for drinks was refused service coz no mask.

But at the casino after it was sardines and no mask in site. crazy
Exactly what will keep me and thousands of others away from the footy. This madness needs to stop, i dont want to get into a date about the elephant in the room but its not going away for years to come because of our hopeless governments

The staff are following SA Health directions - and the directives have been well advertised.

If you turn up to a bar without a mask at AO after all the messaging about masks you deserve to be refused service.

It's either be militant about the masks or go back to the 10k they were allowed last season until the vaccine rolls out.

If wearing a mask is "madness" to you, you've probably made the right decision to stay home. :thumbsu:

Meanwhile, the majority of us who are fine with wearing a mask will safely attend footy games with decent crowds and have a great time.

It's staggering that people don't get it. Such an easy thing to do that causes little to no discomfort for 99% of the population.

So the staff at AO are following SA health directives but every other hospitality venue it's free reign? Non sensical

There isn't 40000 people at each Oval bar at one time either.

but you get that one person who doesn't know they have covid having a drink at the bar, walks back to their seat, possibly spreading the virus and before you know it, it has spread around the stadium, albeit thats highly unlikely to happen, but thats what SA health would be worried about

In that case, why no mask required when they get back to their seat?

I'm assuming because they know who is sitting where and if someone did spread it in the seat they would know who to contact as opposed to someone walking through the stadium spreading it and not knowing where it came from

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering where are the best seating areas for an afternoon match at the Adelaide Oval, as I will be going to watch the AFLW Grand Final next Saturday between Adelaide and Brisbane and it's the first time I have been to a match at AO in quite a while. Given that all seats around the stadium are GA (General Admission) for the public and it's basically first in, best dressed sort of things, what time did the gates open for the PF yesterday between Adelaide & Melbourne and how long should I line up pre-gates opening to get some excellent seats which won't place everyone looking into the sun throughout the duration of the match?

Cheers :)

Yesterday was fully ticketed and I think next week will be as well, so need to get there too early. I like the western stand for avoiding the sun, best to avoid the east (although that's normally worse around sunset).

Don't mean to be so specific by any means but how early do you mean should I get there? Should I get there at the start of the gate-time (12.30pm) or a little more earlier then that at like 11.30am-12.00pm at the stadium. Just that I also need to take the train from Seaford all the way to the oval and all that with that taking around an hour also before arriving at the CBD of Adelaide. As well as that, I'm right to assume it's $10 per adult and free for kids everywhere around the stadium?

By fully ticketed I meant all seats are reserved, so it's not a matter of getting there early so you can get a good seat, but I wouldn't leave it too late with all the security and Covid check in stuff (so probably 1pm at the latest).

When you're outside your seat/pod on the hill.

Okay, cheers for that.

Thanks for your help also with that matter, very appreciated :)

Hopefully those Lions can smash the Crows this time ;)
