Adelaide Oval Review

Why wouldnt amazon, ebay, or any other online avenue count? I wouldnt care if my money was made paying someone to sell lemonade on the side of the road, its money made that I havent had to work for... Virtually every small to middle sized online retailer integrates eBay into their online selling system. Even stores like Target, JB Hi Fi, Harvey Nornan, they all have eBay stores.

In 2014 there were a total of 1667 Australian eBay millionaires...

But no, eBay or Amazon are bad ideas, they dont count.

Now you are just being dismissive because you have just been shown up. Your posts reek of "tired old man who is angry at the world" syndrome.

lol I'm dismissive of your claims to be a mogul because of such modest claims

I'm also dismissive of your thinking that claiming to run an eBay shop with your nan helping part time was an answer to the question: "why do you think you know their business better than they do?"

1. Different industries ;)
2. They are a multi million dollar company running hundreds if not thousands of employees

You claim to be a backyard market trader who "employs" one person

So yes, I'm dismissive :)

Ive never claimed to be a mogul.

Ive also never mentioned my nan, or her "helping" part time to run an eBay store. I trained someone and pay them a monthly wage.

I also dont claim to know AO's business better than they do. I dont know anything about their business. What I do know is that there are many people unhappy with the price of the products they sell, who all find their own way to buy elsewhere. That is potential customers lost. I also know that well over 1000 Australian millionaires worked out that if they provided the best product at affordable prices, they would get more sales. Right now AO do not have the best product at the best prices so people go elsewhere.

I also never claimed to trade from my back yard, or in markets. I pay for a business name, taxes on sales, GST etc. Just because it is online does not make it some dodgy backyard sale.

Hey Hey,

On a level of 1 to nope how terrible is the Riverbank bridge situation and as Riverbank stand patron should I go via KWS?

TIA
After the game it was empty, i stayed for the kick 2 kick but there we're signs everywhere outside sayingavoid the bridge and go to KWStreet. That was packed even half an hour after the game finished, the bridge was virtually empty. There is new stairs at the end of the bridge which leads up to the hyatt hotel, u then walk straight between train station and hotel turn left into the station and u are there.

Easier than usual.

And yet it was your answer to why you think you know their business better than them

Anyway, perhaps the solution is for you to shout all your spa buddies who are running short of cash?

I But the point I am trying to make is that Adelaide Oval is the most expensive venue in the southern hemisphere. If they dropped the prices of food and drink, they would sell a lot more on game day.

What makes you think you know their business better than them?

Because I started 2 online retail businesses from a total of $400 investment that now earn me enough money to allow me to travel without needing to work as well as pay someone in Australia to manage the businesses.

Don't you hate it when your asinine comments are taken in context?

It was chaos post game. The SMA drip fed people across the bridge to avoid congestion at the stairs at the other end.

I ended up getting to the stairs via Elder Park, but it adds about 10-15 minutes to the walk to the train station.

Only in Adelaide would we build a bridge that isn't fit for purpose.

The quick and simple way to do something about the Adelaide Oval pricing is to stop buying food and drink inside the ground.

If the demand for food and drink drops then the SMA will have no choice but to address why the demand has dropped.

Exactly

Mind you the queues are so long at the key intervals right now they can barely cope with existing demand.

Because I started 2 online retail businesses from a total of $400 investment that now earn me enough money to allow me to travel without needing to work as well as pay someone in Australia to manage the businesses. Im in the process of trialling another product to sell online, so if all goes as planned it could be the start of a 3rd business.

When selling something, the almighty dollar will always eventually win out. People want the cheapest option, the most bang for their buck. Currently there is a mix of people buying at AO, and others who bring in their own food and drinks or buy outside of the ground. Perhaps the reason for the price rise each year is because more and more people are refusing to buy at AO.

You must understand the difference between the captured market at AO and that of the www.

It's being "drip fed" at the moment due to there being a safety hazard and crush risk at the train station end due to the temporary works happening in the area.

There's 2 other bridges within 100m...only in Adelaide would people whinge about walking an extra 100m to cross a small river.

I reckon most people who cry about our bridge have never been to a sold out game at Docklands and had to catch a train afterwards.

Been to a few and the walk across a wider and much shorter walkway to get onto a platform at Southern Cross Station takes about 40 minutes.

For 20 minutes over 22 days a year our bridge is fine.will be even better after they fix the bottle neck around the Casino/Festival Theatre precinct. Which they are doing now

Anyone that fires off at staff for something like that should be immediately cut off. Want to behave like an idiot, then you're treated as intoxicated and that's the end of you buying drinks for the day.

They are the quickest conduit to management.

If you were a little more aware you would have noted I was also making reference to the bridge falling apart over Sth Road.

The designers said it needed to be twice as wide, but the govt didn't want to pay
Similar situation to the Southern Expressway really

Exactly right - except it was the ACC not the 'government' which put the kibosh on a proper width bridge and didn't want to pay - and there was talk of it being a performance space as well at one stage if it was made wider - but you thank the ACC for that never happening too.
