II love having an ex-Crow coaching my local team as in, John Klug. Still has the best hands, whould nearly be able to handpass further that what most guy's could kick at Glenorchy!!!

I still rate Klug as Adelaide's best ever centre Half forward ahead of Matty Robran in my view.

In fact I would have Stevo ahead of Matty Robran.

Klug just used to give 200% and was the best long handballer I have ever seen maybe bar Michael Voss.

By the way, theres been a couple of cases of players being moved because they werent getting a game. Cant recall one player being moved because he was being played out of position.

Macca, For the sake of trivia...what about Mark Harwood
IIRC he didn't even change positions?

(Maggies did us a favour by taking him of our hands :p
What a shame he's gone, was always a target for a bellowing Uncle Steve)

John Klug was great. Pity his knees gave up on him though.

How many times do I have to tell you people that Parry and Krueger are not ruckman. AFL clubs can tell SANFL clubs where to play their players. If we want to develop them as KPPs then they will not play as ruckman in SANFL. Plain and simple.

You say we are well stocked with ruckman. Next year Clarke retires we have 2 ruckman in Biglands and Hudson (and who knows how he will turn out) and a pinch hitter in Krueger. Is that a long term succession planning??????

It wasn't that long ago (1999??????) that all our ruckmen were injured (2 season ending injuries) and we were left with the likes of Mark Stevens, Ian Perrie and Trent Ormond-Allen to play as ruckman. Do we really want to go down that track again?????? At the end of that year we had to trade for another ruckman and traded pick 6 and 21 to Brisbane for Matthew Clarke. Do we want to be forced into that situation again where we simply must overpay for a player??????

Even this year we had to go into a game with only 1 ruckman fit to play. Lucky for us Jeff White pulled out of the game, and the timing of that game was somewhat good (last game before mid-season break). If that happened in the middle of a very important run where we had to win to make the finals we would have been well and truely ****ed. For years our rucking depth has left a lot to be desired.

As I said before 4 real ruckman on the list and one on the rookie list is the way to go every year IMHO.
Today's article in the Advertiser further proves my point. If Clarke retires at the end of 2004, we are once again forced in a position to overpay for a ruckman. If this happens we are ****ed.:(

hahaha the day Trent Ormond-Allen was in ruck was the funniest day! He did really well - but granted - we wouldn't want to have to go back to that!

But I wish Brad all the luck, and would love to have him playing for Adelaide, just as much as I love having an ex-Crow coaching my local team as in, John Klug. Still has the best hands, whould nearly be able to handpass further that what most guy's could kick at Glenorchy!!!

ah respect,
Kluggy is a legend.

To rate Klug over matty Robran is sheer folly. Klug was good but Matty was the second best CHF (second behind Carey) in his best years. Breaking his leg IMO really meant we never saw the absolute best of him. Klug was damaged goods even before his Crows days. Wonderful player but not in Matty's class. Sorry !

Ayres should start to do what Chocco does.
Once he notices a person from the opposition, sends someone over to bug them so that they can't pay as much attention to whats going on.
Or just send them inside to train if there are "spies" around.

I tried searching for this Brad Lang chap. The only thing I could find is his photo from the club website and that he wears number 15. I have no idea what position he plays but I think it might be safe to assume that he is a ruckman

Langy's a good young ruckman at Glenorchy, he's having a great year with the Pies. He'll be with the Devils this weekend, against Williamstown. He's got a younger brother at the club too (not sure if he's still there)
