B: Smart, Bassett, Edwards
HB: Stengein, McGregor, Torney
C: Burton, Ricciuto, Goodwin
HF: Ladhams, Perrie, Johnc.ock
F: Burns, Stevens, Bode
FOLL: Biglands, McLeod, Shirley
I/C: Clarke, Doughty, Welsh, Begley

IN: Stevens, Welsh, Stenglein, Ladhams
OUT: Carey, Bickley, Skipworth, Schuback

If all these ins are fit, then we should play them. If there is any doubt (like with Hart), then they should be given another week. Would rest Carey's knee after last weeks performance & freshen up Bicks who has the flu - we need them fit for the Power & finals.

I would like to see Bode & Burns play most of the game.

Shirley to run-with Harvey.

With only 2 weeks to the finals, we should be trying to play our best team and getting some experience with our best forward structure as we haven't had the luxury of it once this year. For this reason Carey should play IMO. I do agree with freshening Bicks and not risking Hart.

Also agree about Bode and Burns playing most of the game.

INS: Stevens, Welsh, Stenglein, Ladhams
OUTS: Skipworth, Schuback, Doughty, Bickley

I agree with you macca23 but having said that knowing Bicks I reckon he will put up his hand to play.

I would really like to see Schuback get another go but I might have to wait until next year. The kid has got some serious speed.

I agree that Burns and Bode should play at least 3 quarters each.

I think 5 changes might be a bit too much if everyone is fit.

Pretty sure Bicks has played every game this year (if not very close to), so wouldn't harm to rest him given he has the flu.

I am all for playing Carey (at the expense of Dogga in my selected team) IF he is close to 100% with his knee. If he is not, we must rest him to have him right for the Showdown & finals. We can cover him against the Roos with the return of Stevo & Welshy.

IN: Stevens, Welsh, Ladhams, Stenglein
OUT: Doughty, Skipworth, Schuback:( and Bickley (for a bit of a rest. Let him get over the flu)

Key Match Ups

Shirley Vs Harvey (Maybe Shirls can contain the bloke that kills us every time)
Stenglein Vs Grant (I would play him on Simpson but I am pretty sure that Simpson will get Roo)
McGregor Vs Petrie (Would love to see this match up. I really rate Petrie)

The rest sort themselves out.

Why would they bloody drop Bassett??

I suppose its matchups as they don't have many tall forwards.

He would be unlucky not to play in finals. Very unlucky.

Are these your changes or the official changes by the way?

Official, as per Channel 10 and 5AA.

I probably wouldn't drop Bassett either, but it sends a strong message that everyone has to perform week in, week out. I'd say he still has a chance of playing finals as well, as you said, the Kangas this week don't have many tall forwards.

Also, they might be easing Stevens in as a defender maybe?

I hope that Hound dog is injured or is being rested.

With no Hart in the team (although Bob is back this week) it is a strange decision, he has had a good year.

I'm absolutely staggered with the omission of Bassett.

It could leave us a bit short down back unless the thinking is to play Stevens down there.

The Roos have brought in 2 talls in Rocca and Hale to add to Petrie and Archer.

On the other hand the Roos look a bit small down back themselves.

Crows should win comfortably.

Omission of Bassett was surprising but could it be because its going to rain on Saturday. 3 tall forwards on a wet day is not the way to go.

I have said before that Stevo will most probably be a backman for the rest of the season. I would suggest that he'll get Tredrea in Showdown if they both play.

In the wet conditions, definitely play Stevo & Kenny as the key backman, with Carey, Perrie & Welsh up forward. Crumbers as Stiffy, Ronnie, Ladhams, Bodey will be important in the conditions.

Bassett on form over the past month deserved to be dropped & as I said before, the coach showed he had lost patience with his form & antics.
You'd have to say that being dropped at this time of the year suggests he won't make it back for the finals & that will allow Stevens to play in defence.
To me he's a certainity to be offered in any trade deal possibly to the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne or even Sydney. If he's offered to the Bulldogs we could get Faulkner in return.........
I reckon he's played his last game for us !

couldn't have put it better myself. what a load of crap. poor form is his only reason for being omitted.

I reckon giving Ayresey some lip has more to do with it.

Good time to give him a kick up the arse when we can afford to drop him, so the Hound will be fired up come the Showdown & finals.

What's the story here?

Apparently when Bassett was benched during the Collingwood game he spat the dummy (as he does) and was not very happy.

If this is the reason he has been dropped I can't say I agree with it.

I love the way the Hound plays his footy, with real emotion, remember the time he kicked the goal post after giving away a free kick, great stuff.

He is one of our best defenders and with Hart out of the team (is he injured?) there is two first choice backmen our of the team.

Interesting, thanks for that DJarman.

I too wish players wouldn't be dropped for disciplinary reasons. It hurts the side. Surely a fine would suffice.

Hart missed last week with a quad injury, he obviously isn't yet 100%.

I agree that having both players out leaves a big hole in our defence. :( Hopefully Mark Stevens can fill it.
