Yet when the crows had a healthy list across 2017-2018 and didnt play youngsters we were dragged through broken glass.
Georgiades still made his debut.... Ladhams still gets games.... Duursma and co still get games.... can name others too.

Can you say you gave those same opportunities?

you are correct..although with the shortened times between games this year it helped most clubs rotate players out of necessity
Agreed, we didn't have many getting injured, I would have love to seen a good half a dozen or more other players get a go, including Watts, Garmer and Hayes, likewise some of the 2019 crop who by all reports are good too.

No SANFL footy didn't help their cause though.... that'd make it as hard as the lack of injuries to get a game. Though to Hinkley's credit he kept the team on its toes and dropped players throughout.... very good coaching. He had to rotate it some way or another, regardless of the results.

They got games because you had holes for them in a non-finals side.
You didn't have a bunch of quality experienced players missing out for them to play.

Which of Jenkins or Walker were you going to drop when they had 40+ goals each per season to give Fogarty a game?

2019 you can say was a failure with Pyke trying to hold onto his job rather than doing the right thing for the club.
That's the only year you can really say we should've focused a lot more on blooding youth.

Logic has never been the friend of the Port supporter

And you shouldn't defend 2018. I'll give you 2017 as it's similar to Port this year, up top and not too many injuries. 2018 was the year they should have given more games.

And having an intelligent and constructive conversation is obviously beyond you, when your fellow supporter can be constructive. All you can do is resort to pathetic insults.

Not wasting my time with you. Ignoring you.

Byrne-Jones, Amon, Clurey, Houston
Amon yeah, he's done a 180.

No one knocked those other 3, Byrne Jones has been in the team since he started. Clurey and Houston got a chance in the final vs WCE's coveted fwd line and performed admirably.

Next time, do your research.

Byrne Jones was considered bog average until the last 18 months externally (which is what we all are).

Ive done plenty of research champ. Media and pundits were going on about Ports lack of development up until even 12 months ago.

You've always had the top end players performing well, but your major improvement has come off development of mid tier players that in the past would've ended up spuds.
Theyre now becoming good AFL players.

If you dont think your development has done a 180 in terms of success then you're blind.

Would be like dropping dixon this year to give a game to either of those 2.... would never happen

I guess it depends whether they want to leave and how aggressively Adelaide want to hit the draft this year.
We already have the best draft hand by a considerable margin & likely to get a generous FA compo for Atkins at the beginning of the 2nd round. That's 5 picks inside the top 30.

I think the Crows list changes will look like:

FREE AGENTS
B. Crouch
Rory Atkins
Kyle Hartigan

DELISTED
Riley Knight
Jordan Gallucci
Myles Polholke
Ayce Taylor
Kieran Strauchan
Ben Crocker
Patrick Wilson

PAYOUT
Bryce Gibbs
Ben Davis (or delist David Mackay)

TRADES IN
Jackson Hately
Tom Sparrow

TRADES OUT
Paul Seedsman

Obviously won't get much at all for Seedsman, and will just be looking for a pick upgrade.

Draft night could end up Adelaide night . If this year AFL allow club no minimum of 3 .

I like these changes, though I'd add Will Brodie if we can get him. Wonder if Seedsman would be the one and we can take some of Will's contract $$

This is Georgiadis first year on the list (and he missed all of last year with injury) and we are top.

You're not totally wrong but DBJ is just a really bad example.

External recognition does not equal performance and development.

DBJ has been steadily improving for some time from a very reliable base.

Is there any chance Sloane is available?

Unlikely but 31

What's the point keeping him if he's not part of the next flag?

More so when a bounty of picks/youth players would be available

Add to the crows group of promising young players
Sloane is under contract & need to keep leaders like him & Talia around to guide the younger players.

Surely Brouch falls into this category as well. Without having the same insight as a Crows supporter, your midfield looks very bare without him. Whats he like at training, does he set a good example?
If we don't get pick 2 FA compo for Brouch, he definitely a keeper.

If pick 2 is on the table, I'm indifferent. Brouch is our best midfielder who ideally we would keep during the rebuild but depends what we think we will get for him.

Our midfield has looked ok in the last month with Laird moving in has made a big difference.

Need to make room for the likes of Schoenberg & Jones in the rotations need year.

Also, rumours we are targeting GWS midfielders...

Won't work like that.
Unfortunately the club has sprouted out about how we don't know if we want him, and we are happy for him to go if we got pick 2. If he feels unwanted he won't give a s**t if we get pick 2. And if the club ends up losing our best mid in the prime of his career for a second rounder then the club would have ****ed up yet again.
