Adelaide's decline

Are you all there?

We removed EVERYONE.

He was new. We didn't just go half arsed.

Now the real problem is for you that you'll finish last, possibly not win a game and you'll bring in a pick 1 and others to the same situation. The same recruiting staff, the same hierarchy.... What has that achieved? What's the likelihood that kid stays if the club carry on like it is?
It's not the same hierarchy though?

When we bring in pick 1:
1. New coach (KH)
2. New head of football
3. New chairperson (Kochh)

The difference is mainly in the CEO. And we are not broke like you almost were so the footballing decisions are the critical ones, not the entire business.

I can accept the argument 'how do you know that you didn't hire a crap coach and head of football via a crap ceo' but that chain has no end. Which is why I'm willing to re-evaluate once Chapman is gone.

Also, as mentioned, your strategy actually hasn't led to any onfield success. All the people we sacked got close to a premiership than your dream team (so far). So it's a bit disingenuous to suggest Port's strategy is the correct one.

Given we went from a basket case, though not as bad you onfield atm to a relevant challenger in a season, yes it was a great change.

We didn't waste a season.

We also started a long period of retaining talent at that stage.

Your culture is still the same. It's the same few running the club. How do you think Roo will help you attract players after his antics? Until you start afresh, from the top, you are prolonging the mess.

I’m hoping their form continues, throughly enjoying the ride.
there are more senior players wanting out.

Yeah the crows are 0-11 but in reality they should of won 2-4 games already. My team went 0-10 in 2016 and it psychology damages the playing staff.

It makes a huge difference if you win a game in the 1st 10 games. Even if you are 1-9, at least there is some form of belief there.

I disagree that Don Pyke left the list in a mess. It would be like saying when Ross Lyon was sacked last year, he left Freo with a poor list, which I disagree. Justin Longmuir is coaching in a semi decent way at Freo. I thought it was harsh sacking Pyke last season too.

Pykes coaching would of got your team 2-4 wins this year.

If I was a crows fan, I would hope the crows get at least 1 or 2 wins by the time the season ends.

Don't get me wrong. I envy the crows finals success. This is not including the 3 Grand finals they made in 1997-8 and 2017. Cornes, Blight, Ayres, Craig, Sanderson and Pyke. Thats 6 different coaches in a 20-25 year period that at least got a preliminary final with the crows.
??...you make zero sense..

Read my post again.....

I hated it when freo were 0-10 in 2016. I am still bitter about it.

Yet in 2017, freo were 6-4 after 10 games. Hell I wasnt even Angry when freo lost to the crows by 100 points 143-43 that night.

I remembered those 1st 2 games in the 2017 season: a 40 point loss to cats at home then Freo lost by 89 points vs Port in Adelaide. 6 days later, we beat the dogs by 16 points. That home win gave freo a massive boost of confidence throughout the season. That confidence helped freo beat the demons at the MCG 106-104 and beat North by under a goal in Round 5.

Point is, I reckon they would of still been competitve if Pyke was still the coach in 2020.

Crows need to get 1 or 2 wins by the end of the season. Crows will finish bottom on current form. But the crows dont want to have a season when they went a whole season winless.

What's your point?

If the Crows had their way they'd get him moved on like Rucci. But they can't.

99.99% of the SA media loves you.
Sometimes tough love is needed... but we have the crows ambassadors covering up incompetent management.

Btw, Abba, Ditts, Tredders, Rooch & Kornes are far more than 0.1%!

Brisbane fans did nothing of the sort and are in a similar position to Port.
The Lion's Roar group was formed and in 2013 successfully campaigned to change our jumper back from the 'paddlepop lion' style - see article below. This group were BigFooty based. We replaced our Chairman around this time as well. The Go Home 5 set us back but it has all come together in the last few years.

This.

It drove change for Port.

Where as many of the ambassadors just look at positives. Only a idiot looks at positives in this scenario. Rowey getting emotional is about as close to it as possible yet he'll just be dismissed for being a bit of a clown.

Because Himmelberg is finally starting to deliver on his potential and is a decent enough 2nd ruck option. Unlikely to see Billy again this year unless they managed Berg for a game.
Yeah he was ok recently, but Billy was dropped earlier and I believe was the highest goal scorer in the team.

The decision on him was made before this.

Yeah it was, but I struggle to see him getting back in now. Will be a pure depth player for us.
If Tex was in ANY doubt about playing on next season Billy should be playing.
