Crows have made their attitude to players pretty clear over the past couple of years - not sure any player would want to go there.

Don't mean to be a negative Nancy, but this might be the worst year ever in the modern game to bottom out. Might be neck and neck with when GWS/GC came into the comp.

- Very little or no underage football will be played so scouting will be far more difficult as someone has pointed out
- Because of the above, the players aren't having a chance to develop and improve, in what is a crucial year for players historically
- One of the potential number one picks is already tied to a club, as are a host of other talented players in this years crop

If I was to speculate, seeing how the Crows are run from a management POV, I wouldn't be surprised if they scouted this years crops as 16 and 17 year old from the assumption that they wouldn't have a high pick to use, so might be even more disadvantaged

I think this years draft will be a goldmine for clubs who perhaps don't have those really high end picks, because there could be some gems unearthed in any of the rounds!

Nicks is from SA but he's had zero to do with the Crows till now. Played with Sydney, assistant at Port and GWS. Get the feeling Nicks will be a stop gap coach who'll very soon start copping the wrath of the supporter base and SA media, but he'll escape the "bloody Victorian" vitriol Robert Shaw and Gary Ayres copped.

The best think that can happen for the Adelaide Football Club, the best thing that can happen is that the AFL come in and remove the current board and CEO. They own the licence of the club till 2028.

Employing Burton as fitness manager above the vastly more credential and experienced Poulos - who left as a result.
Having a massive injury toll as a result - and then recruiting Haas to fix it; under Burton.
Mass exodus of quality coaching staff.
Promoting Burton to GM Football when he was a ****ing disaster in every way.
Total failure to recruit quality football people.
Gone missing every time there has been bad news - which is constantly.


Anyone with any integrity would’ve resigned after the Tippett debacle - instead, he stays on for over 10 years. This absolute campaigner has, with the assistance of Ricccuito, destroy the Adelaide Footy Club.

When you got a director like Ricciuto posting on Twitter embarassing the club it's just really disappointing. I respect what he achieved for us as a player but as a board member he is part of the problem and it's disappointing for someone that claims to love the club. We also have had former crows and now board member Nigel Smart refer us supporters as "customers".

Have really lost lots of respect for the club over the last 3 years, our CEO is happy as long as he keeps getting money while us supporters continue to be treated with disrespect. I do not blame players for walking out on the club, I wish they would all speak up about the frauds we have that are meant to be running the club yet are to incompetent to do so.

It's going to be a long road back. I am hopeful while our juniors don't look great at the moment they also haven't had much game time so we just have to give them time. Need to move the older players on as well.

Ricciuto engaging in social media with a former player as the football director of an AFL club is so unprofessional it's staggering. I saw this and just could not believe it. It's rogue behaviour go wrong on so many levels. It's petty and beyond reproach. For all of his amazing on field prowess it shows an unbelievable lack of understanding. Is there not someone at the club in PR position screening this and just saying "NO". Therein lies the problem. Not too different to telling a 3 year old not to do something they shouldn't.

Aside from this I actually think Matt Nicks is a great choice as a coach. I just hope he doesn't drown before he gets to really make his mark.
