Adelaide's decline

I really think people are underestimating how bad they actually are. Once again the young players were just dreadful again. They have to keep playing Sholl/McAsey/Stengle/Himmelberg despite not performing at all and looking overwhelmed.

This is the lowest we have seen a team since Fitzroy
Some of their young players will come good it's just when they come into a non functioning side with crap senior players it takes longer.

Adelaide’s list is woeful
Nicks has a tough gig but needs to be given a go!
Is there genuinely 1 crows player that would get a guernsey for a full strength Richmond, wcoast, Geelong, Brisbane?
Doedee, O’Brien and Laird. Talia is still a good player too but not sure he would make one of those sides. Cupboard gets bare after that...

Laird played well in the midfield but got shunted away from there yesterday to make room for Sloane ( who is the very definition of cooked). People forget he was an AA rebound player when we were decent - I have no doubt he would slot into a top team and be valuable

It's probably been said, but I urge you to head to AFL Tables and examine the horror that was Melbourne's 2013 season. Bear in mind the Dees lost to a team of actual teenagers in GWS. Comfortably worse than Fitzroy, who in 1995 had a BETTER % than Melbourne finished with in 2013.

Dean Terlich and Matt Jones finished in the top 5 in the Melbourne B&F.

The 2020 Crows team would flog the 2013 Dees comfortably. Just having Matt Crouch, Brodie Smith and Rory Atkins in the team makes them miles better.

All shockers.....
Adelaide 2020 avg scores 7.12 to 15.10, 0 wins to date (scaled up by 25% for extended qtr)
Fitzroy 1995 avg 10.10 to 18.16, 2 wins (ironically, the 2nd win was 9 goal last qtr against Adelaide in Adelaide.
Melbourne 2013 avg scores 10.9 to 18.15, 2 wins, lost to GWS
Port Adelaide 2011 avg scores 12.9 to 18.15, 3 wins, lost to GC (ironically, the 3rd win in the final round was against Melbourne)

I made a lot of money betting on Melbourne for lowest score of the round that year.

Think its time for Studley (Graham Cornes) to stop Piss farting around and call for Fagan, Chapman, Riccuito to resign. For reasons I cannot fathom, Gra-Co is regarded as major player in the SA footy industry, and it seems like it has to take someone like him to kick start meaningful regime change at the AFC, even if he is good mates with many of the clowns currently running the Crows.

I know this is a weird thing to say, but Fitzroy 1995 was a worse side than their final line suggests (2w, 58.2%). They were competitive-ish to start with, but started to get completely flogged on a weekly basis and it got worse with every month toward their death. Players just realised that the end was nigh and they weren't playing for a footy team, they were playing to get a lifeboat off the sinking ship.

Travis Cloke is a premiership player, a dual All-Australian and a B&F winner. Taylor has never achieved any one of those accolades, let alone all four of them. Travis also made it to 250+ games whereas Taylor looks like he'll barely make 200.

Was Travis Cloke a 'champion'? Debatable. Probably not. Is Taylor Walker a 'champion'? Not even close.
Cloke's best (i.e. circa 2011) was just absolutely unstoppable, but it just didn't go on for long enough to earn that tag of "champion" IMO. I don't know how much losing the 2011 GF and the change of coach affected him - as well as no longer getting the same silver service from a dominant side - but he definitely slid back to the pack.

2011, though, was as good as any year that Jono Brown has produced. Problem is that it was just one year, whereas Brown did it for the best part of a decade.

He's $600k wasted now, maybe someone takes him and pays him $400k, then we pay $400k, saving $200k. What's worse than the salary will be watching him hobbling around and being selected for every game over the next 3 years that the selfish prick puts his hand up for.
How is Sloane a selfish prick? He's copped a bit of a physical battering for that footy club and has never been seriously linked with a move away from the club.

No doubt he used being the most loved Rory in Rorydom and Adelaide's terrible Player retention reputation to his advantage in his over the top 5 year $4 million deal. Good luck to him I guess, but just another example of Adelaide's bad list planning.

Better than Nankervis ? Soldo better than O’Brien.

Yup, comfortably. And yes, they have won flags as you’ve so predictably said, but so has Jordan Roughead and he’s not as good a ruckman as O’Brien either.

Why is it Sloane's fault that your shit club had to overpay him to keep him there rather than let him walk out on you like every other good player has? Most clubs have to overpay to lure players away from other clubs, your club has to overpay just to keep the players you've already got.

Crows fans celebrated that signing like crazy when it happened. Everybody else could see that giving a 29 year old a five year contract was a recipe for eventual disaster. Sloane is entitled to every cent of that contract for putting up with that clown show of a football club, and I hope he takes every cent of it.

They shouldn't. If we could fit it into this year's cap, they should be paid out in full and Tex thanked for his service. There's been posts on our board that he's fully aware he's done as a player this year, where have you heard he plans to go around again? I've not heard it, but I may have blocked it out if I had.

Apparently Walker has a radio gig with TripleM in Adelaide and there he stated that he intends to play again next season ...

2017/ 2019 Flags say hi.Nankervis and Soldo have score on board. This is comedy gold. O’ BRIEN has trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time.

Are you really sure that you, a Richmond supporter, wants to go down the 'well he must be a better player because he won a flag' path? Have you forgotten the last 40 years already?

Mitch Morton > Matthew Richardson

No one expected this quick too.

It was the worst deal ever offered at that age imo.

He was always a huge risk with his body and style.

Took admin's side and came out speaking glowingly about the camp whilst teammates who thought different were silenced. He's in it for himself. Even now, comes out saying that he's enjoying his footy more than he ever has. He's not all there, is a shit team man and an admin shill.

I've no problem with Sloane extracting his full whack from our shitful list management group, same with Gibbs and Walker. I never posted anything different. My selfish accusation was based on him continually playing injured when he should be getting right and allowing a kid to get a few games. No different to Tex now and guys like Sauce, Betts and Thommo before them.

Where is Sydney 1993? They were worse than all of them far as I'm concerned. Because of how recently after Fitzroy were folded I think people forget just how hopelessly non competitive they were.
