Adelaides Future Vs Ports Future

Both are better than the Bulldogs.....

The proof will be in a few years time when the kids from both clubs lose the experience players.

True the Crows do have more older players but most are midfielders (although great ones) who replacements are being groomed, and playing leading roles right now. In the next three years we will lose Goody Bassett Edwards Macca Burton Bighlands Doughty, however there are players playing in similar roles already. Players such as VB Vince Porps Rutten Thompson (last two similar age to S Burger) have also shown they posess leadership qualities.

Port will lose two Rucks (Lade and Brogan), A Champion Forward (Treaders), An above average Small defender (P Burger), An adequete Full Back (Thurstans), An AA Utility player (Cornes), in the next three years with no players being groomed (or regularly playing yet) for these positions, bar full back. Additionally these players to retire are not just great players but leaders at Port, Chad, Lade, Tredders and Brogan especially. Ports kids seem limited in terms of leadership qaulities, with the exception of Salopek.

So lets argue the list you gave us...

Walker = 0 games
Dangerfield = 0 games
Kite = 0 games
Otten = 0 games (i think)
Petrenko = 0 games

Wow, odds are half won't be there in 2 years...

If only you added Sellar your credibility would be shot to pieces hehe

Nice work bud:thumbsu: You've named 5 blokes who are in their first year on a senior list, wow they havn't debuted yet (Not true with Otten, obviously fact finding isn't high on your list in what constitutes a quality post), shock horror:eek: We've picked up a group of duds! Ignoring the fact that all (bar Danger) are consistently in the bests for their respective SANFL teams, and well I won't even go into Dangerfield, the only reason they arn't playing is our coach/selection panel and their conservative views towards players debuting.

As for the OP, might I suggest actually doing some research before randomly generating a list of players under 25.

In all seriousness though, Port are a year or 2 ahead of us in terms of regenerating their lists, of course their youngsters will have a few more games under their belts and showed a little more than ours. Quite frankly though, opposition clubs can under-rate all our youngsters as much as they like, makes no difference to me.

Toby isnt our regular full back. The fact you completely dismiss Carlile, who statistically would be right up with the best full backs this year kills your argument. Ill give you one ruck, tredrea and cornes, but P Burgs has already been replaced both in the midfield and in defence.

Good point. Wakelin was your FB with Thurstans a stopgap for Carlisle to take over. I was wrong in my assesment.

However Lade Brogan, Tredders and Chad are comparable in quality to Goody Macca Edwards Bassett and Burton. Ports succession planning is lacking in these key areas. The Crows have actively recuited and groomed players to take over. Port have not.

Does it scare you that Delucca could be leading your ruck next year. He aint no Maric or Griffin. Chads best days are gone and Tredrea (in prime second to, and in some areas better than J Brown), although ok this year, is now just an average AFL player.

Our spine really shows our young talent.

Bock and Rutten are both 25 so their at FB and CHB for a while.

We then have Moran and Kite as the 3rd tall's both very athletic, Kite showing a lot in the SANFL for a bottom age. They will take Bassett's and Steven's roles.

Griffin and Maric in the ruck with Tippett, Moran and Sellar able to pinch hit provides a young potent ruck.

Walker, Tippett, Sellar and an injured Hentschel (25 I know) provide very kick marking options.

Our midfield has been led by youngsters all year.

Knights, van Berlo, Vince, Douglas, Porplyzia, MacKay all having good years.

Otten has been killing the SANFL, Dangerfield has been playing every possie in the TAC cup and killing it, righfully so, Jacky being groomed as a FP type, Petrenko showing very good signs and has been elevated because of it.

I like what we have.

I'm not going to bag Port because I propbably don't know enough about their youngsters like Marlon etc, so I won't comment.

I would also be happy if we poached A Thomson off them to get an in and under grunt type player in our mid.

Very happy with our stocks.

I'll buy some Adelaide futures please - and while I'm add it give me a stack of Pork Belly and Frozen Orange Juice futures as well!!!
