The general consensus is that Conolly is gone, rightly or wrongly.

I have questioned some of the move's the guy has made but IMHO he was always an exceptional public face of the dockers (Not the primary job of the coach I agree).

My anger lies at the feet of the fools that so far have seen us through the Neesham era, the Drum era and the Conolly era, with very little success.

The same fools that gave Farmer 6 weeks while only giving Tarrant 1, that every season chase the big recruit.

Get rid of the lot of them, I see very little positives about our club at the moment.

Yes we have a strong membership, but let's not forget we are in a football crazy state with a booming economy.
Our marketing is a joke, our player development is a joke, our injury management is a joke.

The only person I think has done a stellar job is the guy in charge of drafting (forget his name).
Considering the rubbish pick's we have had he has been exceptional.

Nothing has changed in 13 season's..There is something fundamentally wrong.

The buck stops at the coach sabre_ac. All his decisions the past year or so have been in HIS best interest. Not the players, not the supporters, not the clubs. He knows he was lucky last year (it was the players that got us to the finals, not him) and he has simply tried to buy more time.

The guy rolled the dice, something at first I didn't agree with but looking back I believe it had to be done.

We were close to a grand final with the competition's oldest list, this season was the time to strike (Not rebuild).

How exactly are we any different to 5 years ago? 10 years ago?

The only cycle I have seen from our club is the coaching one, in comes a highly rated assistant, out goes a failure.

Something is amiss.

The time wasn't to roll the dice, the time was to acknowledge we had a good list that could make finals for the next few years, bring youth in gradually, and build a culture of success. Instead of doing the hard yards under Connolly this club has continually over extended and gotten ahead of itself. You don't go from prelims to premiers immediately! You don't automatically improve on finals berths, like expected after 2003. YOU HAVE TO DO THE HARD WORK!

There was no way in hell we were going to win a premiership this year if our midfield did not improve remarkably. Tarrant and Solomon will not improve us in that area. Connolly made a terrible judgment, one that hoped for success rather than worked for it.

germans only been ther thjis season so he should stay

broadbridge on the other hand has been there a while

broadbridge is an absolute fool, its just that simply. Hes a fool. He has been at the club since cuddles has, and has consistantly pushed this moron idea of having big bodied midfielders in the mix. IT DOES NOT WORK. yet he still gets a new contract every year. It seems like noone except Cuddles is even accountable for their actions at Freo.

Whoever signed Jlo up for a 4 year contract, knowing the state of his knees should not have a job any more.

What are you on about?

Schwab and Hart took their positions at the end of 2001, they are hardly at fault of what happened in 1995 to 2001. Im sorry but that statement is just sheer stupidity.

One person who has been there since day one is our recruiting manager Phil Smart, and given our bad history of willing to trade for experienced players who are past their best as opposed to keeping our picks and using the picks to pick the same type of players over again while not meeting deficiencies in our team, he has to accept some of the blame.

IMO we need a overhaul of our list in terms of midfielders and we need to show Broadbridge the door. Im sorry but our midifeld is consistently too slow, too dumb and lacks skill.

Sabre - IMO being a bit harsh, thinking that CC is gone. I still think that CC will be the coach next year. Pav came out in support of him today as an astute thinker, a great motivator and strategist. I agree

We are "where we are" as we did not the right breaks and could have won 4 of the close games we lost. We should have won today but it did not break for us.

You have always been a good supporter and had confidence in CC. You should maintain it as we are not totally dead for this season yet. There is still an outside chance.

What responsibility has Smart got for the trading and player targeting. My thoughts were he was a scout and talent coordinator. The footy dept was responsible for the implementation.

Who ever decided to forgo the midfield deficiencies this year needs to accept responsibility.

Smart has zero responsibility during trade week. On draft day he recommends who he thinks is the best available player, then it is up to the coach and the football manager to decide who to pick. It's not Smart's fault that we have 15 half back flankers.

Schwab and Hart instigated Connolly's contract extension in February 2005. That should never have happened, and at the end of 2005 after consecutive failures Connolly should have been sacked. Schwab has played a large part in our current onfield woes.
