Last night (approximately 11pm AEST) I signed up to bwin, an agency I had followed for a few months before finally registering. Supposedly they are a Turkish based company who are meant to be the biggest bookmaker in the world (is this true)?

I usually deposit money into my betting accounts using either a credit card and Poli. I didn't want to be charged a 2% fee for the credit card deposit, and for some reason I needed to download some program to support Poli payments through bwin, so I used a new method last night; Instant Bank Transfer.

Given it was my first time depositing money using this method, I only deposited the minimum amount they allowed ($31.80 AUD, which I believe is around $25 EURO).

The deposit was successful, but only one problem. The money hasn't shown up in my bwin account, but it was taken out of my bank account. WTF? Isn't this meant to be an instant transfer? Please excuse me if I am worrying over nothing, but from my end it appears as though something is wrong. I have emailed them about the issue, but I am yet to receive a reply, only an email saying...

Many thanks for your e-mail.

Due to the high level of e-mails being received at the moment, we are currently experiencing delays answering your queries.

We will be in contact with you as soon as possible, and ask for your patience in the meantime.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Does anyone have any experience with bwin, or depositing with this method. More importantly, can this agency be trusted? Again, I apologise in advance if I am indeed worrying over nothing.

It's simple, isn't it? They're the number one bookmaker in the world and they allow live online betting.

Proper advice would be appreciated.

They're the number 1 bookmaker in the world are they? Did you get that from their website?

What about bet365, they claim the same thing. I think William Hill does too, wouldn't surprise me if Paddy Power has claimed the same thing at one time or another.

What do they have live betting for that you're interested in?

Overview
Bwin claims to be the number one site for online betting in the world. With up to 30,000 bets daily and betting action on 90 different sports in 22 languages, they back up this claim with style. Live online betting being available to Australians is a massive drawcard. For football fans, there may be no better site than Bwin, as they offer betting on nearly every global football league match year round.

Tennis, Basketball and Soccer mainly. I hadn't heard of any negative feedback.

But it's illegal. So they will take your bets until you win and when you try to take it out they will suddenly find out you are from Australia and cancel all your winning bets and keep the ones you lost. You know why? Cos **** you it's Turkey thats why!

Funny, because in the opening post I was only asking if it was true if the company was established in Turkey. I never stated the fact. Upon further review, it appears they are actually Austrian, so you can take the Turkey off your head (which is clearly blocking your eye sight), and you can use Monica's glasses to help you read about bwin and offer me sound advice.

Apparently Australians bet with them live all the time and they have been paid out, no problems.

If its illegal to bet live, why is the biggest company in the world ignoring the law? Surely they could be fined or shut down for doing it? Also if the corporates here know about it which I'm sure they do. why aren't they kicking up a stink to the government asking why it's ok for this live money to go overseas but not to them?

Bank transfer isnt the same as Poli. It will take 24-48 hrs.
Thanks.

I've just been informed from one of the blokes who run MVP Genius that they received an email two days ago saying they had only just caught onto Australian Law and, as a result, every Australian account will be shut down. As you say, though, it's strange how they lasted so long allowing bets from Australian clients.

I'm expecting my money to show up in my account by tomorrow, and I should be able to withdraw it.

So bwin are canceling Australian accounts because Australians aren't allowed to bet live?
I get this message on my screen.

We are now closed in your country of residence and no longer accepting new players, deposits, bets or game play. If you have a real money account, your balance is accessible to withdraw.

Surely the easier away to avoid having a legal issue over this is to just close down their world-wide operations entirely.

what a load of BS by bwin.
I just had about 15 pending bets cancelled and they were all going to win. I am going to file a complaint to whoever I can, what a crock of bs

I feel for you, that's an absolute joke they cancelled those bets. Minnesota is a win by my calculations and the rest would've won from the looks of it.
