Last night I invited him upstairs to watch a documentary on astronomy. It was all going well until the documentary started talking about the benefit of binnoculars over telescopes. I felt embarassed that I'd chosen a such a crap doco so i switched it off and proceeded to play him a song i'd written for him on my guitar.

It was beautiful but I'm not sure he saw the beauty in it.
