Just ask him.

Tell him your gay mate thought he was hot or something; just make up some bullshit to justify asking the question.

At least then you'll get an answer instead of guessing/assuming and possibly being wrong.

Just say you have a brother who is gay and wanted to know if he could go out with him for a few drinks.

All joking aside, that sounds very typical of some gay guys. A lot of gay guys fall in love with women (social conditioning perhaps?) but simply aren't attracted to them. I know a guy who spent about 10 years in an unhappy, unfulfilled, childless marriage with a women he was in love with, only to realise he was gay. Since then, he's tried to have gay relationships, and none have ever stuck, because he has never fallen in love with a man. He's now a 60 year old homosexual man who has only ever been in love with women.

Your friend might be having a similar sort of problem; it could be that he feels very strongly for you, maybe even loves you (which you pick up on, and which in turn strengthens and validates your feelings for him), but ultimately isn't SEXUALLY attracted to you, which obviously would hold him back. Even if he doesn't realise he's gay, it would just be something that isn't quite right.

Alternatively, he could be straight and just not that into you.... Sometimes it happens like that, for no good reason.

It's one of those senarios for sure and ultimately it doesn't matter which one it is.

nah, i have more of a mind spirit connection with him, which is usually the opposite to what i go for ie. physical connection.

Meaning, i don't talk dirty towards him.

I will ignore his text.
That in itself is ghey. Nah just kiddin'.

If he's keen and you're ignore him and his texts etc, then you would assume he'd try and do something, otherwise he's not as keen as you think/is gay. I'm feeling this is an awkward situation to be in, the whole friends with other friends thing and if things get screwed up you can't run away from it and he's right next door etc.

The big problem with having a thing for your neighbours. If it turns pear shaped you make yourself look like an idiot then you have to try and avoid them until you can get out of the place.

You are a female and you say he is a friend so why don't you just ask him if he is gay or not. If he says yes then at least act supportive whilst hiding your disappointment.

But yes, i'll move on and just be good friends with him, eventually.
Why do girls always want to be friends with guys after they break up/get rejected/reject a guy?

I can't think of anything worse than being friends with a girl that I have/had feelings for (or vice versa). Waaaaaaaay too messy and not remotely worth it.

I know what you mean but it would be different with this guy considering we haven't been in a long term relationship.

Why do people always assume that a gay man is effeminate and vice versa?

Is there some estrogen imbalance that supports this notion?

Yes there is.

How can you honestly not see that gay guys are normally more effeminite than straight guys.... Of course there are exceptions.

Very good point Brad Roo:thumbsu:

FFS... why all the games and beating around the bush (or beating the stick pardon the pun)...

Apparently... you have strong feelings for him. This you know for a fact. Unless he has told you he is sexual preference... you don't know shit.

In fact... it doesn't matter what his sexual preference is... just tell him you're attracted to him and ask him out on a date.

Outcomes:

1) He is straight and likes you he will accept... YOU GAIN.
2) He is gay and only wants to be friends... NO GAIN, but NOT LOSS EITHER.
3) He is gay but you "turn" him and he accepts... YOU GAIN.

Irrespective of his sexual preference... you like him... best to try snapping him up before an opportunity is missed.

Yep, you risk your emotions... but that is what makes it worthwhile... big GAIN or big PAIN.

GL.

lolwut? Hell no!

How is fryingpan anyway? What does progressing nicely mean?

I'm somewhat illiterate so can't always decipher and interpret texts, but I do however have a keen eye for art and can 'read' pictures quite well.

Thankyou, great advice.

I will follow your advice. I honestly rarely meet guys because when i'm out i'm with my friends and just want to hang out with them. The only reason i'm with this guy is because i've gotten to know him in my zone.

But yes, i'll move on and just be good friends with him, eventually.

Do you live with Ross Lyon?
