HOT STREAK UPDATE

dyE99e1.jpg

In a week where the hopes of 3XKO contenders, ND contenders and Jarryd Hayne were dashed, Hot Streak was not immune to the Week 11 dramas.

Lower down the leaderboard (i.e. anybody coming in to this week with an active streak of 3 or less) red crosses littered the board thanks to wins to Seattle (7 incorrect) and Dallas (17 incorrect).
That Dallas win wasn't the sole domain of low score pain as 11sjw - coming in with a streak of 22 - backed the Falcons and saw his Hot Streak dreams reset.

The Steelers comeback added some much needed positivity to the Hot Streak board with Demonic Ascent moving to 22, and Showbag moving to 17.

That positivity was short lived as wins to the Colts, Lions and Raiders ended, or refused to ignite, 34 streaks , including the aforementioned Showbag.

Then came the Broncos - bringer of 39 Red crosses and vanquisher of active streaks, including competition leader Hide & Zeke whose competition leading streak ended at 24 and simonoz (out on 23) JeffDunne (out on 23) crowman_23 (out on 22) and Oscarman (out on 22) - with all five of those leaders making the Chargers their first selection for the week.

Surviving that four game chaos was Demonic Ascent who only added the Saints to move to the best active streak of 23 - one within the overall competition lead.

Following him is a quintet of streakers who avoided making a selection this week and may be looking to reload next week :
pedge7 on 20
AmericanCrow on 16
TheGreatBarryB on 15
and mcgarnacle and shiny_on_top with 11

Week 12 is shaping up as another doozy. Will we see more leaderboard carnage or will somebody find a way to build a winning total?

So I picked 4 this week.

Thought for sure I would be the worst of the lot.

Nope, good ol' nobbyiscool , balmainforever , Chism and of course ol' reliable GG.exe there to all be worse than me...
Suckas!!

I'm more disappointed that my Hot Streak ended at 15 when I was on a nice little role. And even Broken didn't include me in the graphic of "15" :(

Now I gotta go apeshit and try to pick 16 winners in a row to get back in the race.

That graphic is the Bossmans work.
Fwiw dead streaks are red if it's leading the competition. Active streaks are green.

I had a pretty good season so far this year....and yet I got barely a mention/write-up or inclusion in the "marquee ND games" graphics  Typical AESPN hate towards the small market entities.

I believe I gave you a heartfelt shout out when you upended Moo and allowed me to wrap up my first divisional title with a W this weekend.

In fact, we get to be Christmas card mates...what better reward could my brother from an Aussie mother wish for?? :)

This is the way I see Next Duel divisions...

Marty Shottenheimer Conference
Randy Moss Div
Clinched by Danielz23

Boomer Esiason Div
PHX / Sblack still alive
PHX only needs to win one more game as has 2 x H2H advantage over Sblack. Sblack can only clinch title if PHX loses both games and he wins both.

Mike Webster Div
Clinched by AmericanCrow

Steve Atwater Div
Camsmith / JME still alive
Camsmith just needs a win in Week 12 to clinch, JME has H2H advantage in their only meeting so far and would need to win both with Camsmith losing both to claim the title on H2H basis.

Jason Witten Div
StarlinCastro / Showbag still alive
StarlinCastro gone MIA but still holds a half game lead. If SC doesn’t return 1 win by Showbag might just be enough to claim title.

Bo Jackson Div
Clinched by BeLikeMike

Ty Law Div

Crowman23 / SimonOz / Marklar33 still alive
Crowman23 only needs one more win to claim the title having H2H advantage over SimonOz. Should C23 lose both remaining matchups, SimonOz would need to win both to nullify the H2H tie breaker. Marklar33 needs to win both and rely on Crowman23 losing both and SimonOz losing one.

Patrick Willis Div
Clinched by Pedge7

Pat Bowlen Conference
Drew Brees Div

Clinched by BornAgainIdiot

Michael Strahan Div
BurningLeviathan / TGBB / Bipolarbear still alive
Still very much up in the air… BL and TGBB have split their Div matchups and BPB is a game further back. All three really need to win both and rely on the others losing to have any chance of claiming the title. Should become clearer after Week 12

Sterling Sharpe Div
Jatz / Osmodiar / Tcol still alive
Still very much up in the air… Jatz and Osmodiar have split their Div matchups and Tcol is a game further back. All three really need to win both and rely on the others losing to have any chance of claiming the title. Should become clearer after Week 12

Ed Reed Div
All four technically still alive
No idea! Just keep chalking up those Ws if you want to claim this title!!

Brian Urlacher Div
Chism / Knackers / GridironWarrior still alive
All up in the air in this one too! Chism appears to have a slight advantage in the H2H tie breakers, but wouldn’t want to drop upcoming matches to Knackers or Raskolnikov which are both div games. GridironWarrior needs to win out and needs help.

Marvin Harrison Div
Hide&Zeke / WADW / Galactic still alive
Hide&Zeke looks to set, but lost both div games to WADW. Can’t afford to drop either of his two remaining matchups as either WADW or Galactic could shoot for the top

Brian Dawkins Div
Swannies / Statsman74 still alive
Swannies only really needs one more victory to claim the title. Statsman74 needs to win out and hope!

Ladainian Tomlinson Div
Clinched by IslandBomber

Disappointing that 'NO SHOWS' have impacted on two of four default results that have basically gifted Division titles to Camsmith & Swannies (9-3) without giving Statsman74 (7-4) a chance to challenge in Week 13.

There still 13 more contests to be decided on MNF from which six have ND play-off implications.

We have two new Division leaders in Osmodiar (7-5) and WADW (7-5) as their previous Division incumbents (Jatz and Hide & Zeke) dropped their contests which opens up both Sterling Sharpe & Marv Harrison Divisions to be a three way race. There is a possibility the Marv Harrison can finish with an ND first of each Division member having an identical 7-5 record.

The race for #1 seed is on in earnest between @Island Bomber & @BornagainIdiot who both have knocked out TEN WINS and it's currently BAI ahead on a h2h tie-breaker as they met back in Week 4.

Of the seven pending ND contests to determine a possible eighth Division winner comes from the Boomer Esiason Division where PHX is in the box seat as the 2017 3XKO champ leads 97-91 against 11SJW. sblack needs to surpass Nobbyiscool as it's a 89-86 scoreline with sblack in the box seat if he can correctly predict the MNF winner but requires a loss by PHX.

Starlin Castro (7-4) made a timely return this week to try and resuscitate his season before going AWOL as the 2015 3XKO champ leads Kadog by one (79-78). With 11CR up his sleeve for MNF, it will be enough to keep Kadog guessing as well make Showbag (7-4-1) anxious for another week as it all comes down to next week anyway in the Jason Witten Divisional Powerplay decider.

Unfortunately not all of the three remaining Pat Bowlen Conference match ups to be determined have division play-off implications as BabyGotDak's oversight of the Sunday games have defaulted as a no show gifting the division to Swannies without a challenge.

Statsman74 (7-4) leads Jayzah 93-81. A victory will not be enough for statsman74 as Jayzah can only TIE which is really as good as a setback loss for Statsman74 who split with Swannies and has an inferior Division record.

The Michael Strahan and Ed Reed Divisions have two exchanging contests that is tangled in intrigue.

In the Ed Reed Division, Marcuz (5-6) leads Bipolarbear (6-5) by seven pts (96-89) but a result here is more important to Bipolarbear because instant elimination is a strong possibility with a loss. Marcuz knows a win can help him overtake Bigredmachine (5-6-1) who lost this week. Rashmanadon (5-7) needs losses by Marcuz and Billiever (4-6-1) to keep his faint hopes alone.

Billiever (4-6-1) trails TGBB (7-4) by 8 (84-76) but has a chance to take back control of the division with a win. In the meantime, Burningleviathan (7-5) awaits the result of both match ups knowing victories by Billiever and Marcuz can help him immensely.

3XKO UPDATE: An easy week for each of the five 3XKO title contenders as the Pats and Bolts make easy work of their Sunday games whilst the Saints marched in on TNF for the Hoosier State resident, RiggoDiesel44.

11SJW has exhausted the LA teams, Danielz23 used his last Pats lock pick whilst ready done on the Rams and can't pick against the Cards. Jayzah has exhausted his Chiefs and Saints selections and can't go against the 49ers. Kadog is done with picking the Pack and Chiefs along with going against the Cards whilst RiggoDiesel44 has completed his full quota on Chiefs & Rams and no more Cardinals.

Just to be clear, the selected submitted by Starlin Castro were not complete so the score on the AE website wasn't accurate.

PLEASE SUBMIT THE FULL QUOTA of PICKS IN.. you can always go back and update them as it's completely PAINSTAKING to do such adjustments.:(

Here is his selections with fill in 'default' road picks that are based on East to west coast venue based on time starts.

15: New Orleans
14: LA Chargers
13: Baltimore
12: Indianapolis

11: MNF (Titans - default)
10: SNF (Packers- default)
9: Pittsburgh (default)

8: Buffalo
7: Cleveland (default)

6: San Fran (default)
5: New England
4: Seattle (default)

3: NY Giants (default)
2: Washington (default)

1: Chicago (default)

Total of 79 / MAX 91.

Showbag ought to know by know that his Week 13 Division Powerplay for the Jason Witten title will be determined next week anyway against the 2015 3XKO champ.

Unfortanately for Statsman74, BabyGotDak didn't fill in her full compliment after TNF. Picking against her beloved Cowboys at 10CR was bewildering in the least. Got just the total of 29 with MAX of 44. Swannies scored 54 after the early games already.

Bloody hell, no-shows suck.

This kind of thing hasn't been a just this year happenstance.

I think we should seriously give thought next year to the following:

1) stripping no shows of all their victories and losses and either counting them as a "bye" for everyone on their schedule or stripping them of all victories and awarding win to everyone on their schedule. I understand the argument from those who would have beaten said player when they were actually live in the comp, but there is a much bigger picture here.

2) stripping no shows of any entrance into the high roller sweepstakes/hot streak/ any other events they remain live for. You should not be allowed to disappear for several weeks to appear in Week 17 to make picks nor should you be rewarded for an early hot streak.

Everyone knows my thoughts on the no shows even when it would work to my advantage. It simply is not right and not fair when there is $$ on the line.

That moment when it's 5 vs 7 for MNF and you pick the same... While being up already by 3. ;)

I'll admit it's kind of anticlimactic but atleast I can enjoy the game now without stressing over the ND result - Sole possession of the Ed Reed division is mine for a week.
In hindsight, Green Bay saved me from being salty when my flipped MNF pick failed to salute anyway.

We're onto week 13 lads.

I have lost count of the amount heated discussions about this issue myself and Woodson have had in the last 5+ years on a Monday morning watching the NFL!

Seems to be no real solution and i have always played the card that a NON Tipster should NEVER be able to claim an ND win because a week of flukey road teams that salute giving them a win when they never even tipped. On the flipside then comes the issue of people getting gimme wins that are crucial to ND divisions results because they happen to be scheduled to play a bloke that has spat the dummy or gone AWOL by Week 8.

I did try to make a case for a NON tipper to get the average median score in a week that was not tipped -10. So if the average score for the week was 70odd for example that non tipster gets 60pts by the league average on the people that did tip and if you happened to play the NON tipper in an ND matchup you had to score more than 60 to beat him, which eliminates flukey road wins that can often see the non tipper win by pure fluke winning scenarios and the NFL is littered with them as all the time it was the non tipper getting MAX CR points on the road team during Monday night football ( last game of the week ) which is always mostly a 50/50 prime time game anyway!

When you make 1 decision regarding the non tipster rule it affects others no matter what you do leaving it nearly impossible to please everyone.

The most difficult thing about this comp and keeping it honest is working out what to do when blokes drop off and do not tip ****ing everything with a knock on effect.
