Jimmy Toumpas for Lyons and our 2nd rounder.

Wallowing in the seconds at Melbourne, no confidence, feeling the burden of expectation that drags down a lot of Melbourne kids somehow. Beautiful kick, former number 4 pick, bring him home to his family and support networks, get another pre-season into him and he'll launch I reckon.

Is he on the last year of his contract? I was under the impression he'd signed a three year deal, or maybe I just imagined it.

If we could get Aish and Toumpas back it will be an enormous boost and may go a fair way to settling the natives - it's a huge ask though as neither will come cheap

Roos is a pragmatist though. He's getting nothing out of Jimmy, he would do a deal I reckon. He's proven not to be hard to deal with too. Toumpas this year and Aish next year would be a beautiful thing.

And the Dees/Roos did show some interest in Lyons last year, watched him in the VFL on the ABC a couple of weeks ago over here and he wasn't overly impressive that day so your probably on the money.....I like your thinking!!

Goddard from the Falcons goes alright, I think Chris25 might be undervaluing him a little, will go top ten easily.
He has drifted all year and has had a poor u18 championships but yeah I reckon 15 is too low more between 6 and 12 so right around our pick.

personally I like Petracca, Pickett, Brayshaw, Smith in that orde

Interviewed young Goddard and the Captain of the Vics Metro Touk Miller on AFL 360 the other night, both seem like intelligent, decent young men....Touk Miller in particular is a very interesting story being of African American heritage and the son of a cruise liner musician who had a very unusual upringing being constantly on the move. When each was asked where they thought the other would go in the draft of course each replied "top ten".

I have noticed Bellchambers dropped tonight, always thought he played the 2nd ruck forward role well, chances thoughts he is only 24 202cm. In my opinion a better option than pods
We went after Bellchambers previously and he knocked us back.

Also he's about to get a suspension of yet to be determined length.

In saying that they will have Harvey and Shaw coming into the senior side in the next couple of seasons. With Redden and their medium forwards that will be a hard forward line to get into.
Lycett probably won't know who they are. He'd see current side and think there is an opening for him. Port will tell him that too.

Would be a definite win and a big boost to the team if they could pull off something like that.

thoughts on going in hard for troy menzel who is off contract this year? SA boy and I reckon he would be awesome and would give us an extra dimension up forward with a gray/wingard type small forward who can move in to the midfield when danger/douglas rest. at 186 is also a good mark and a great kick. chances??

Would be immense, but will re-sign shortly with the blues I reckon. Can't see them letting him go.

I wonder what Otten would attract at the trade table. People seem to have given up on him with talks of bringing in Stewart.

Maybe him teamed with our 2nd rounder could get Bellchambers. I've also liked the look of Steinberg if we could work him into the deal.

No doubt about Higgins ability wise, however his career has never really gone anywhere due to consistently being injured/injury prone, approach with extreme caution. See Scott Gumbleton.
It's for this reason that we may be able to get him on the cheap. It's been established that due to our draft sanctions we need to be active in recruiting free agents. High risk, high reward - not exactly what the AFC is about! I would fully support going after him though.
