Should we expect anything in return for the likes of Shaw, Martin and Petrenko. I know it obviously won't be much but something is better than nothing.

Perhaps we can package them up and get pick #1 ;)

I jest, of course.

I wouldn't imagine we would receive too much for them. Possible a third round pick for Petrenko, but nothing for Shaw or Martin.

It wouldn't be much. Shaw's an 'ordinary' third tall who can play key/small at a stretch and does have a little to work with. I don't rate him but I'd say there'd be a club out there who would want him. I'd say we'd get a 4th for him or perhaps a minor, minor upgrade. Ditto Pets, he's a 20-25 goal a season SF who applies reasonable forward pressure. There's not a spot for him in our forward line but with the scarcity of genuine small forwards in the league I'd say there's a place in someone's team for him, again, a 4th perhaps/pick upgrade.

And with the depth of this draft I think we could do something with those picks provided our recruiting department have their heads screwed on right. I was a little cynical post-Rendell but they absolutely nailed the rookie draft so I'm a little more hopeful with how they're assessing deeper talent.

Where is pets these days? Injured or playing in the 2's?
Both, I think. Was playing in the twos and then got injured if I recall correctly.

No thanks. Cameron and Betts is enough small forwards in the one side. Sounds like (Jeff Garlett) is going to Richmond anyway.
Just the sort of list clogging recycler Wretchmond pick up. It drives their fans mad! Just have a read of their forum, full of hate for middling recycled types. Wretchmond get list cloggers, Swans get flag players on the recycle!

I'd agree to an extent but Garlett would be a good player if he was the only small forward in a side like he would be at Richmond.

Is Charlie Cameron destined to be a forward pocket specialist?

Or can he be more a Lewis Jetta / Bradley Hill wingman type?

Edit - and just to clarify I am happy with either :)

Mundy re-signs with Dockers.

Mackay might start looking like a pretty decent option to some clubs if the free agency midfield options start running dry.

Might get a better price for himself and better compo for us

If he goes to a Melbourne club he'd be closer to WW

Definitely want to see him move further up the ground. He appears to have that "Yarran gear" where he runs as fast as he has too with the ball but if you are making ground, he'll switch gears and go just a bit faster than you. That makes him a dangerous player of a HBF or wing because putting it in his hands can mean a 100 metre gain so I think he has more upside further up the ground.

Plus Bicks will ******* ruin him as a forward

Newcastle, Colorado Rockies.
I'd be very surprised if we landed him. Lycett is looking for regular game time, and right now, one ruckman is on a 50 goal per season average (Jenkins is averaging 2.25 goals per game, which should put him at around 45-50 goals this season, should he remain healthy) and the other is Jacobs, one of the top ruckmen in the league.

We really need a backup ruck, we really shouldn't be trading for one though, getting a state league backup should be the better way to go, purely so we have decent cover.

Fremantle and Hawthorn both play with two rucks. I don't think Jenkins gives Sauce enough assistance in the ruck and he needs to concentrate his training more towards his forward work.

If Lycett is good enough he will play. He could start in a forward pocket, when Sauce wants/needs a rest he can go to the bench, then bring a smaller forward into the pocket to throw their defense off guard. When it's time to rotate back they have a small defender standing a resting ruck.

If your talking about pick 1 of the 4th round you maybe about right :) I would be happy to let either of them go and use that pick on Darcy Cameron. Straight on to the senior list and develop him over the next few seasons. I've given up on Osbourne, I hate his Matthew Richardson attitude and would like to see him gone.

Once builds up his tank, should be able to progress from a forward to a wingman type.
