if we got pick 2,3 and 12 we could trade our pick 3 and a fringe player for a gun defender (mckenzie, hooker, rance) and sitll have 2,10,12 potentially 22 for lyons.

pick 2. get brayshaw replace danger
pick10. get pickett, leverde some pace
pick 12 get a tall
pick 22 cockatoo

Rebuild...not waste. With a new coach, it's understandable. Walsh did it with West Coast and Port, and it worked a treat.
the problem now is what happens to the half of the team that's already rebuilt I.e. Talia, walker , Sloane etc. You risk loosing them through free agency as they get impatient. We can't keep starting again! We are probably only a handful of players off seriously competing

Next year Griffen turns 29. bigfooty seems to be the place where soon as a guy turns around 27+ they get an extra few years added to their age in any debate regarding them being traded from club A to club B.

I would rather keep Dangerfield. If we have to use pick 2 to replace him that pick becomes useless. I can't see Essendon or West Coast giving up those guys and Rance isn't worth that. We can still use 10 and 22 to recruit the suggested players. Basically trading Dangerfield for 2 untried kids in a weak draft.

If you can trade Danger for 2,3 and 12 you have 2/3/10/12 in the draft.

If you can then get Cameron for 2 and 3 you essentially gain Cameron and a first round pick... I'd take that (PROVIDING Danger doesn't want to commit past 2015).

You missed Cole, Hale, Rodan, Armstrong, Seaby who've played in GFs as well.
Cheers, fixed. I only skimmed through it so knew I'd miss a few. But seriously, wow, 21 of the top 40.

Yea I don't think anyone has suggested it's close to a "super draft" unfortunately matty p Not that I think Danger going to Melb is likely to happen anyway.

Holy cow, Trade Radio just crossed into the most self-important circle-jerk I've ever heard about football.

And that's saying something. Football journalism in this country is delusional.

EDIT: Essentially, the Bulldogs have gone for Boyd, because Trade Radio told them to last week.

God it must be hard for those blokes on Trade Radio... filling up so much dead time. But Tex to WB? Who knew they'd stoop to comedy?

As for Danger - this is what I reckon. We stick fat with Danger, continue to keep him off the table. We need to show him we want him to be a one club player with us.

Next year, if he decides to walk:

a ) he looks like a mercenary
b ) we maintain our integrity as a footy club
c ) he's restricted FA, so we just match any offer then work a trade

What I think will happen: we keep him off the table, he signs a new deal with us by mid 2015, he becomes our next captain in 2016.

It's such painful listening, but I just can't turn it off.

God I hope we have a few decent trades up our sleeve at the moment. This trade period has seen some massive names get put up for trade but apart from a possible Cameron at the airport sighting, we have only been seriously linked to the likes of Giles, Schoey, Cheney, and McDonough. Trusting the club has something going but its a little disconcerting at the moment...
