Still young enough for our rebuild. We are probably at the end of our rebuild now. Hasn’t played much footy so theoretically shouldn’t be banged up too much.

Not yet, but we should be coming towards the end in 2023 if all goes to plan. After all, we'll be fielding one of the most inexperienced (if not the) teams throughout 2022.

There is definitely a place for Freeman in our side if he clicks, after all, we do need to push upwards soon.

Nice, might head up to our game vs Westies on Saturday then.

EDIT: Hmm, Westies have U21 vs SPOC listed as the game on Saturday night at 7pm.

Could average 50 disposals, 10 goals and 12 frees for and he would still poll mid pack at best
Nah, that's impossible.

Our team would never get 12 frees in the SANFL.

Might be struggling to field a team, not too many AFL players likely to be available through injury and Covid provisions.

Unless the Lions game isn't played?

Pretty sure Hamish and co have said last year was our final year of really going to the draft and from this year targeting free agents etc so I guess we are going for more mature players this year to speed it up?

Unless Fogarty and/or Himmelberg make massive headway this season Harry Lemmey is going to be a mighty enticing draft prospect if he builds further to what he'd already shown come September

So Matty Wright to captain again. Listening to Godden we have some good players this year to help with the younger guys.
We've gone with a smaller top up group this year, but grabbed more guys who have SANFL experience like Isaya McKenzie, Jacob Templeton, Chris Hall and Louis Sharrad as well as just adding Nathan Freeman too. McKenzie was training with West Coast a few years ago for a rookie spot.

Godden has said he thinks a smaller group will allow them more 1-1 training time with the development group, which should be a plus overall for them.

I think a return to regular scheduling helps the number of top up players you need as well. Obviously for every emergency you need to sit out it's an extra top up player which over the course of a season makes a difference.

I think if we got really short we could add to it anyway.

Was weighing up to get my digital pass today but wasnt sure if they were putting the trials on or not.
Found timings but doesn’t look like it will be televised. Would be great if someone could get down to West Lakes and give us a report.
Interested to see how Freeman and Milera go…

Did the rule change to allow us to grab state league players?

Wonder how much we’re paying Freeman. Was surprised no journo asked him about his player manager job in today’s presser.

If come AFL R1, our SANFL team has Frampton, McAsey and Borlase down back - surely we need to think about Worrell as a forward.

He doesn’t appear second in line behind Doedee as the third tall/interceptor (given he didn’t play last week v Brisbane), so where’s his option to break into the senior team?

He has some weapons as a forward and our depth is weak there.

So our seconds start their trial game against North at West Lakes in about 15 minutes. Anyone there to give us reports? Any stream or coverage anywhere even if by radio?

If present, frequent insights and reports would be most welcome and greatly appreciated!
