I will take the Champion Data #175th-ranked player, who has studiously been ignored by everyone else, but managed 15 games (!) in 2018 and refused a 2 year deal with Hawthorn to stay at the Lions (!!)

Ryan "the molester" Lester (Brisbane)

The Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys!

FF: Daniel Menzel - Tom Hawkins - Izak Rankine
HF: Alex Sexton - Josh Schache - David Mundy
C: Dale Thomas - Gary Ablett - Angus Brayshaw
HB: Tom Doedee - Adam Tomlinson - Pearce Hanley
FB: Jack Crisp - Scott D. Thompson - Jarrod Harbrow
R: Stefan Martin - Tom Mitchell - Ben Cunnington
INT: Aaron Young - Liam Jones - Jasper Pittard - Oscar McInerney
SQUAD: Nick Holman - Darcy Fogarty - Luke Dunstan - Jeff Garlett - Patrick Lipinski - Levi Casboult - Jacob Allison - Ryan Lester

If i had to rate myself, and i do, i'd say
Forwards - good. Hawkins is elite, the rest fill in the gaps and there's quality on the bench to fill it in - Garlett, Casboult, Fogarty
Midfield - elite. Mitchell, Cunnington, Ablett, Mundy, Brayshaw, Martin, Dunstan, aye carumba.
Backs - good. Lots of guys who can play their role; will be a big plus if Hanley comes back to form, and he has a ready replacement in Pittard
Bench - lots of less-heralded names, but i've moneyballed this one good. Happy with all of my picks bar probably two.

Also, i used a top algorithym i stole from NASA to rank the teams and it came back with this for the top 5

With pick 478, The Crystal Gems select Sam Draper.

*With pick 509, The Crystal Gems pre-select Matthew Flynn.

Mr MysteryGuest pre-selected Matthew Flynn a while back for his pick 509, so that leaves adelaidecrows up now with the last pick of the draft

Final team! Snortin Eagles ready for duty

Leadership across the board, with 7 current or former captains lining up (Walker, Boak, M. Murphy, Hurn, Geary, Beams, Davis).

The team is dominated by this years Grand Final, with 7 Eagles premiership players, and 4 from Collingwood's gallant side.

The midfield has class, the backline is rock solid and the forward line posses a good mix of exciting smalls and a key target in Tex.

Nic Nat to return in the 2nd half of the year will be the x factor of the side.

Final Team:

B: Tom Jonas, James Frawley, Tom Langdon
HB: Kade Simpson, David Astbury, Jake Lloyd
C: Tom Cutler, Elliot Yeo, Jared Polec
HF: Jack Higgins, Jack Gunston, Jy Simpkin
F: Orazio Fantasia, Esava Ratugolea, Jamie Cripps

I/C: Kyle Langford, Luke Hodge, Harry Morrison, Brayden Sier

Em: Matt Suckling, Bailey Banfield, Bailey Smith, Josh Corbett, Lachie Fogarty, Ben Reid, Sam Lloyd, Mason Redman

Like the team. Think the backline is very well balanced and would work great as a collective. Midfield has a nice mixture of grunt and class, and Gawn will give my team absolute silver service. Liking the forward line too, with Gunston as the main target and guys like Cripps and Fantasia not only mopping up at his feet, but applying the pressure as well. My reserves are a bit unheralded, but I've gone for players that I think make an impact this year for their teams, as well as a couple of riskier selections

B: Luke Brown...Jacob Weitering...Dougal Howard
HB: Andrew McGrath...Jackson Trengove...Ryan Burton
C: David Zaharakis...Patrick Dangerfield...Brad Crouch
HF: Luke Dahlhaus...Cam McCarthy...Sam Powell-Pepper
F: Jack Watts...Jesse Hogan....Sam Gray

R: Paddy Ryder Trent Cotchin Adam Treloar

I: James Aish...Riley Knight...Chris Masten...Zac Bailey
Emerg: Kyle Hartigan...Josh Daicos...Jack Silvagni...Jordan Murdoch...Jarrod Lienert...Jayden Laverde...David Armitage...Connor Menadue

I like my team. The Midfield is a standout with massive depth and flexibility. Dangerfield, Treloar, Cotchin, Zaharakis, Crouch, Masten, Powell-Pepper and Armitage. Plus with Ryder if fit they will receive first look at it 90% of the time. The forward line isn't strong. However the flexibility of the side means Dangerfield and Ryder can move forward and plenty of goal kicking mids in the side to provide the shortfall. The defense is sound with a good mix of experience and youth. Overall Id rate my team as very hard to beat.

I need to take 1 or 2 more to replace Docherty and maybe daw

neither will play this year (i'd be shocked, Docherty won't but i don't know much about broken hips for footy players)

go for it, delist and select in the rookie draft (i.e., now)

B: Neville Jetta --- Harris Andrews --- Aliir Aliir
HB: Conor McKenna --- Alex Pearce --- James Sicily
C: Paul Seedsman --- Patrick Cripps --- Isaac Smith
HF: Will Hoskin-Elliott --- Jeremy Cameron --- Harry Cunningham
F: Willie Rioli --- Josh Bruce --- Billy Gowers
Foll: Toby Nankervis --- Jack Redden --- Devon Smith
I/C: Ed Richards --- Nick Robertson --- Zac Langdon --- Matt de Boer
EMG: Dean Kent --- Dawson Simpson --- Ed Vickers-Willis

Depth:
Travis Colyer
Charlie Ballard
Taylor Garner
Jackson Hately
Mark O'Connor

I like my team, I think my defence is a real strength. Two young KPDs who have already shown that they will be class (Andrews would've been very close to AA if Cameron didn't KO them, which is why I have them both ;)). Jetta is the best shutdown small defender in the comp, Aliir Aliir will intercept attacks with McKenna providing run and dash, and Sicily also doing his job.

The midfield may not be star-studded but it's very consistent. Cripps is a best, Redden is an unheralded hero, Devon can rotate between rover and HF, with the Seed and Isaac providing dash and booming kicks on the wings.

Forward line may not be great on paper but I think it can work together.

Ok.
So now everyone rank your top 8 teams that you think would do best for the 2019 season if our teams were placed in an actual competition.

PM me and we'll do the whole top 4 knockout finals thread thingy we always do.
