Agreed. The failure to get EH means another year without anyone even vaguely resembling an elite midfielder, or with the potential to be an elite midfielder.

Without any elite mids, we will remain on or near the bottom of the ladder for many years to come. No point having a great forward line, if you don't have mids to kick it to them.

No offence, but I find that mystifying. Why would you give the other kid the benefit of being Number 1 and the kudos and rewards that goes with it.
Not to mention, Riley knows he was second prize to Adelaide now. Absolutely baffling decision in my opinion.....

Literally no benefit to Adelaide at all. They were never getting him, and Number 2 or 3 could have bidded for him.
