45 goals 8 in a short season
I hope he makes it but I'm not sure his lack of genuine speed will suit the step up to playing the small forward role at AFL level

We've only taken one pure midfielder in this draft. Cook and Pedlar are both mid-forwards with versatility

You think Pedlar projects as a flanker at AFL level?

And if so, you're cool with that use of resources?

Lol there’s clubs getting NGA players with first rounders.....meanwhile nobody wants our NGA players. Including us
Pretty rare for small forwards to go overly high in the draft, most go as rookies. Newchurch and Rowe, hopefully at least one works out.

Am I wrong to assume that, if a club selects Newchurch/Borlase, we can’t match but we can then select another player with pick 80 for our senior list? I think you’re allowed 36-38 senior players

Do they all accelerate into each other fighting for the same ball?

That's consistently been our flaw- everyone is designed to play the contest, no one spreads.
No, they go inside and they can accelerate into space with or without winning the ball. The problem with our midfield is most them don't have that acceleration ability beside B.Crouch but he doesn't do that much anymore since his soft tissue injuries, Jones who has been very inconsistent and Schoenberg who is developing nicely.

Not a flanker, a versatile midfielder that can be rotated through multiple positions.

That's how the game is played these days
