Why didn't we take Borlase, does anyone have any mail on why we didn't rate him? Why would we take a mature age small forward over a KPD, especially when we are so thin in that area?

Sounded like we only wanted him as a cat b rookie.

Still, every pick he's on the board for makes it more likely he gets there.

If he slips through to the rookie draft we can put him on the category B rookie list for free and will be on our list, same with Newchurch we're hoping they both slip through

Other field, such as?

The only other area we were looking dicey in the long term was key forward and we addressed that at pick 1. Outside midfield has Sholl, Hamill and Milera to build around, and whilst we'll be in need to adding to that group in 2021, we could hold off this year. Defence has McAsey, Doedee and McPherson as that basis. Small forwards could be dicey long term, if Stengle doesn't make it but that's not exactly something you prioritise now (and even then, Rowe and hopefully Newchurch makes it through).

Our inside group was looking pretty poor coming into 2020, seeing we had some speculative picks, but outside of Schoenberg, no one had genuinely indicated they could make the step up. We've hopefully addressed that problem.

Don't get my optimism mistaken for myself thinking we'll bounce up the ladder next year, we won't, just we're starting to cobble together a young and talented list. Inside midfield however was the problem position coming into this off-season and we made the right move investing heavily into that sector.

Yeah, none of those players are even remotely close to being potential elite outside options.

And? we're starting a build, not at the finishing stages.

That sector is in a much more comfortable position going into 2021 then the inside midfield. Not only that, but Sholl has already torn a game apart and he's not even 10 games in (against Carlton), so he definitely has the potential to be elite.

Apologies if it's already been covered, but do we still get NGA priority on Borlase and Newchurch in the rookie draft?
ie can we pickup Borlase with Pick 1, and, for example, if Newchurch gets bid on with Pick 2, can we somehow match?

We can just take them as Cat B rookies.

'Your argument is completely untenable'
'and?'.

That pretty much sums it up.
