9 new players into a list of 40ish is a big turnover in one year. Only Hinge and Hately, plus maybe the Thilthorpedo would be able to start in round 1 next year, so this is going to take some time before we can judge how good this haul has been.

He has the attribute to be an outside midfielder but I prefer a midfielder to win his own hard ball, accelerate from the congestion to allow himself to compose and dispose the ball. You can never run faster than you can kick.....

You've been really weird this trade period Vader . That is the case every year with rookie picks. Rookie picks are so low risk and we've proven in the past that educated risks there can pay off big. Mackay will add nothing to our future premiership chances.

Borlase and Newchurch as Cat B rookies, Plus Hately and our Draft hand, Seems like a pretty good haul to me.

And this is a really good point! If Borlace and Newchurch survive all the way to our Category B rookie list, we have done a pretty good job in getting some genuine talent into the club.

Like with everything time will be the judge but I think we did a pretty good job!

Not fussed about the Rowe selection. Message from the club before the draft was that we'd take four selections in the ND, must've planned to take Rowe in the rookie draft after elevating Keays. Then must've gotten wind of a potential swoop in the ND, so took him with our final selection

I think we had some pretty obvious targets in this year's draft. Pedlar/Cook/Rowe seemed to be targeted from well out

Wasnt there a strong rumour of carltank being very interested in rowe?... with their pick in the 30’s?

We snatched him just in front of their next pick if I recall..

Yeah. Even passing was taking 30 seconds. Maybe get rid of the are you sure pop up. That always makes you second guess your click

Meh... we moved Mackay (and Davis) from the senior list to the rookie list. This allowed us to select Rowe & Hinge.

Mackay won't be a part of our next premiership team, but he can still play a role in developing the youngsters we've just drafted. The odds on rookie listed players making a meaningful contribution are remote - not impossible, obviously, but remote. Note that less than 1% of all rookie selections play 100 games.

We employ Binuk to play the numbers, and the numbers still come out in favour of Mackay over players that nobody wants in the ND.
