Archie Perkins: I want to stay in Victoria.
Media: How brave and honest.

Adelaide: Draft all* SA kids
Media (Cornes and Cooney): They are hurting themselves not picking Vics....

*Yes Berry is Vic but lets go with all ;).

I think Perkins comments make it all the more easier to pick SA kids to be honest.

Now that I've watched the player highlights, I'm impressed. Great work Crows.

For everyone saying Thilthorpe can't fit into our team, do they know Walker has one year left on his contract and struggled last year? Let's be real, he's a Crows fan, tipped to go top 3-4 and local. This is a player that will give us a minimum of 10-12 years.

We’ve definitely got a stronger list heading into next year

Hately and Hinge added to our draftees and rookies too

I still think 2021 season will be a big struggle but after another strong draft end of next year we will have the basis of a good list

hope from there we can lure some SA talent back as FA and trades

when do we next play finals ? I’m going to say 2024
2023 if we have a good year with injury and the development is a good as we hope.

Whilst not what I considered the Jones - McHenry top picks disaster by Hamish. i look at overall our picks as they don't seem to have the upside talent to in the to give us the X factor in the future .
In particular Berry and Rowe just don't ring top 25-35 players that some others still left might have been better to gamble on .
Again in Hamish we trust but both club and he are skating on thin ice.

I'm the opposite to you. I think this has been our best draft since the new century started. Got the best of the home grown talent while leaving 2 inside mids Mahar and Carroll which we are have plenty. 2 KPF who one was badly injured twice and the other considered JAG from Tassie.

I'm looking forward to these lads playing in the future for us.

We couldn't win last night, it didn't matter what we did. I am glad we took Thilthorpe.

Walker has been done for two years, our expectations are so low now a days that if he competes with two hands we put him in the best players.

tell you what, if getting pick 2 didn't put the Crows front page, getting Steven Rowes kids has apparently made us new article no.1

still plenty of goodwill to the Crows in SA.

We are the number one team in town we just need to get our shit together and start taking advantage of it

Especially on here. Some of the melts were quite entertaining.

Port wouldnt have liked last night, seeing us in the spotlight in a positive way for a change.

I think they will push to win the flag next year earlier than expected. Maybe January or February this year it should be theirs. :drunk:

Anyone seen a comment from that Faith guy yet? His sauces had Thilthorpe slipping to our pick 9 and he was embarrassingly confident it was going to happen

Cost him at least $150 for that comment

I actually will defend those melts on here, those posters, probably havent seen any kids perform this year properly. Every year there is countless highlight packages of players and genuine excitement and knowledge about the top 10 prospects all over the place, Covid ended that and these posters probably only saw his 5 min video of his and were not impressed.

I can see why they melted, but at the same time, its stupid to melt, because you need to give players the opportunity to at least justify any melt.

Regardless of who we took.

what are you talking about? 1 kpf, no tasmanians. Pedlar and Berry are inside mids.

Good luck with that, has disappeared and probably won’t be back for a while.... pretty embarrassing
Yeah.. where are both Brett and Faith?.. anyone seen them?.. maybe i’ve missed their comments since last night if they have posted..

Its going to be an interesting midfield development, even without the strong 2021 midfield draft.

Crouch, Laird, Sloane as the experienced trio who you would think will demand a lot of midfield time. Then throw in young mids that need to play and development:

Hately, Jones, Schoenberg, Pedlar, Berry and O'Conner, need to play some footy. I don't buy Jones as an outside mid, look at footage pre draft and some of the rare good stuff he's done with us is winning the ball and breaking clear, he's an inside mid if he can win the ball more.

I see Hateley getting lots of mid minutes on the basis that it is year 3 for him and he is 190cms, it is a big point of difference in our mids. It would be good to see Sloaney moved to minimal mid minutes and put him to HFF. Good transition runner, good mark, bloody good player to come into the mids as second group

Both Pedlar and Berry have played quite a bit forward as well in the medium forward role, they're both a bit more than just inside midfielders...and both excellent overhead with a good leap on both players.
Fits in with Nicks' wanting more versatility across the park.

Martin has never been one to talk himself up

You would need to be extremely elegant with the English language to be able to talk yourself up more than your on field performances if you were Martin, I mean you'd need to be at Oscar Wilde levels to do that.

Of course the fact no NAB League or APS school footy was played in Victoria to get an updated gauge on the kids wouldn't have fed into that at all?

Such a Karen Kornes comment.

From the article written:

Adelaide has been hit hard by the trade period in the last decade, with Phil Davis, Jack Gunston, Patrick Dangerfield, Jarryd Lyons, Jake Lever, Charlie Cameron, Mitch McGovern, Eddie Betts, Hugh Greenwood, Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Alex Keath, Kyle Hartigan, Brad Crouch, Rory Atkins and more departing the club.

From that article, we could have kept all the bolded players if we wanted to.

Posting articles written by Kane Cornes serves absolutely no purpose but to infuriate Crows supporters.

I don't know why we keep doing it. They're hardly insightful or informative.

Im fine for todays article.

Maybe lets put a ban of his articles on here? I would be fine if the posters on here universally supported this.

I mean FFS its not even an article, its just blatant trolling. If trolls are banned from here, maybe his articles should be?

Surely people could see this coming from Kane? He would have been loving this! He was pushing for McDonald so he could have ammunition up his sleeve but when the draft panned out as it did with so many SA lads, he would have have been looking for ways to dig the boots in. I doubt he slept much last night just thinking up the ways to stick the boots in.

I find it so strange that people judge the success of the actual draft based on how they compare to some phantoms they read in the lead up.

If there's a difference, it's because the phantoms were wrong, not vice versa

Dude, that's what bigfooty is all about!

If we had to know what we were talking about to be here, there'd be nobody here.
