Interesting too that Port said they'd have taken Denver Grainger-Barass after bidding on Jamarra if they had pick1.

There was a anonymous list manager thing on the AFL website on who you'd take 1 apart from JUH. It was pretty even split like McDonald 4, Thilthorpe 3, Grainger-Barrass 3 and Phillips 1.

We could have taken Baldwin the injured one or Jackson Callow. Eddie Ford was the other forward/mid we could taken.

Pedlar and Berry were the reason we left Bruhn, Mahar, Carroll on the board. We rated the ones we took higher.

He is going to be the best player in the draft imo (DGB). But I dont think you need to have superstar defenders to win premierships. More important to have superstar mids, followed by superstar forwards. Happy with TT, even though I agree with Port.

Surely people could see this coming from Kane? He would have been loving this! He was pushing for McDonald so he could have ammunition up his sleeve but when the draft panned out as it did with so many SA lads, he would have have been looking for ways to dig the boots in. I doubt he slept much last night just thinking up the ways to stick the boots in.

Karen Kornes was always going to win no matter who we took.

McDonald - Story the next day that he wants to leave to WA.

I don't think they were the only ones. DGB will be a SERIOUSLY good player. It would have been close for us but given that we got McAsey and Worrell last year for key defensive posts a KPF/ruck was going to be more of a need.

I'm forever the optimist I guess.

The issue for us for probably the first time in history is getting games into a huge amount of young talent.

Inevitably some will fail, and more will come in the next draft or 2.

Trying to pick a side for R1 is pretty hard.
