Does anyone know much about this Jason Hately kid? Why did GWS let him go? How come we didn't trade for him if he was worth getting or pick him in the ND instead?

... is this a serious question? Or is it part of some joke that I'm missing?

Got to get something off my chest.

If the VFL are going to let the blatant rejection of leaving Victoria by Archie Perkins go unpunished that is fine with me.
But for f#@k sake open it up completely and don’t whinge next draft when Horne comes out and says he will not leave SA !

By percentages the SA and WA clubs will come out on top overall.

Horne just needs to repeat word for word for what Perkins said.

We have the template now of what is not considered draft tampering.

I already have Horne's template for his interview.

“I have (told clubs he wants to stay in South Australia). I hope they take that on board. I get that they do what’s in the best interests of their footy club, but I just think personally I’m not ready for that in my stage of life and I feel it would impact me too much,”

“I don’t think it would be in their best interests as a footy club to have me there because I wouldn’t be 100 per cent with it if I was going over there and couldn’t really commit myself 100 per cent as opposed to staying here where I’d be 100 per cent ready to go and fully committed.

“I just don’t think I’m ready for that and I wanted to be honest about it.”

My favourite player at Glenelg, reads the ball beautifully and intercepts well. I think he could be a hidden gem for you guys.

Thanks 84. His work ethic also to move to SA as a teenager to give himself the best opportunity says a lot. Hope the crows picks go well .

Would have been funny if Luko or Rankine said that in their draft year. GC being their baby, the AFL would have reamed the Crows and not done anything to PA.

Apparently Jesse White convinced him to come down to the Tigers this year if he still wanted a shot at getting drafted. More eyes on him and worked out since if he stayed in the NEAFL then he wouldn't have played at all.

You can just see it, we end up with say pick 4 next year and Horne says just that..then on draft night Port somehow do a pick trade to get in above us and take him

It worked out well for him to get on a list for sure.

Weird. It doesn't even make sense as a troll.
Outside of Bigfooty or even a supporter that rarely posts or reads the forums, you would be surprised how little people who "follow/support" the Club, know.

Honestly, that doesn't surprise me. The VAST majority of supporters just look at it as a bit of a fun hobby. They're not paying THAT much attention.

Hamish says it'll be a needs pick with our supplemental pick to replace Gibbs. Says they have the player committed to come over and train, but they won't say who it is until after Christmas.
So one can assume it's an interstate kid ??

It's a sad and pathetic attempt at trolling.
No, you are not that special. We have a 8 week, 117 page thread on Jackson Hately discussing precisely those topics and a bunch of 24 hour old threads on the main board with posters frantically trying to read up on new draftees in exactly that tone.

You must have a very high opinion of yourself to assume I am trolling you instead of making light of the fact we've been discussing this moment for weeks and it's a huge anti-climax amongst all the other draft updates. Adding an insult for emphasis only highlights how sore you must have been when you ended up on the wrong side of the actual discussion about Hately.

What a weird opinion.

Poor bastard is a bit introverted and suddenly everyone seems compelled to say stuff like this publicly.
How is that any 'weirder' of an opinion than the original assumption his presence meant he 'wanted' to be there front and center, versus being told he was required as our highest draft pick from the previous year? Both are valid, if not opposing, lines of thought.

Why are you having a crack at little people? 😜

Im not. Im just saying there is some genuine people that follow/love/support the Club might not know much about it compared to others.

I mean you have some people in the AFL media as an example that dont know much about us and thats their actual job to an extent.
