While I do like to take the pi55 out of the Powa, they have really turned around their financial situation. The facilities at Alberton are great, and they are nearly debt free.
They now get an additional 5 million from the AFL in dividends than we get, so hopefully the AFL can cut that back now.

There was a report on Fox Footy tonight that Adelaide have sold out the 23,000 limit on gold membership add ons.
Was presented as $150 x 23,000, so $3,450,000.
Now they sell a certain amount of gold memberships every year, but it all helps with Thebarton.

Doubt we would have 23,000 Gold memberships. Why? Because the two competing clubs get maximum 40,000 tickets to the GF. And a Gold memberships guarantees a ticket to the GF.
Thought we had around 8,000 Gold Memberships from memory.

Maybe they got their numbers wrong, was on Midweek Tackle.

Yes I saw it as well and thought that ain’t right.
If they did sell that many gold memberships then there wouldn’t be a ballot at all for season ticket holders (those without a gold membership).

Slim chance of missing out, but I seem to recall less tickets than gold members.
I saw it too and thought "Surprise, surprise the media have it wrong again". No way the club sells 23,000 gold upgrades.
One, I don't think the GF competing clubs know exactly how many GF tickets they will get allocated from the AFL.
Two, the club allocates some of the tickets for the silver member ballot.

Gold upgrade always guarantees a GF ticket.
There are remaining tickets after that, but not many, which go to a ballot, for Silver or lower. Essentially a lucky dip.
