The most 'credible' options are:

*Wearing an old state guernsey - but not one of the original ones that are black and white or chocolate and turquoise - but one from as late as the 30s which have blue, red and gold.

*Wearing our current one but with the logos of the original SANFL clubs on it or the 10 clubs that existed the year before the Crows entered the comp somewhere/somehow.

All i can say is, what a load of crap.

I'd rather have us wear our 1991 guernsey (pretty much our current one) than have a late-vintage state guernsey - because heaven forbid we run out in black and white or other assorted unattractive colours, we can't have that  - or a contrived abomination of a guernsey that makes no sense whatsoever.

Thoughts?!

EDIT: Fair dinkum... typos... garbled english.

What have I missed?

Is there an online report on this?

Forget about a heritage guernsey... the club should get to work on a decent away strip.

I must say that neither of the ideas really fill me with excitement. I think state guernsey is the closest we have to "traditional" gurnsey BUT wearing state guernsey should be sacred. Imagine someone like Mattner pulling up a state guernsey to play a game with the Crows. I for one wouldn't be happy.

It was on the 9 news tonight, the club is on the hunt for a heritage guernsey to participate in that round this season because we "missed out" last time.

There was a report on Ch9 about our gurnsey come Heritage week.

I am extremely happy that the club is organising a get together of the original team and marking the occasion in that manner but I am not all that thrilled about our heritage jumper business.

As well as the fact the Adelaide Football Club has **** all to do with the state side and the guernsey that represents it.

I agree. Just get out gurnsey out and play with it. Its very similar to the one we currently have.

Why don't we go for the one with yellow collar??????:p

Better yet, bring back Mods to play out of the goalsquare in the old 1993 guernsey with the yellow number with no white outline.

What a load of crap. That's showing disrespect, imo.
If you really have to acknowledge the SANFL clubs then wear one of their guernseys. Rotate which club each year.

For mine it should be the 1991 jumper. Nothing else

Surely there's other ways the Crows could show their South Australian heritage outside of choosing a different jumper!

We should bring it out the year we're scheduled to play Collingwood in the heritage round.

Purely hypothetic but if you did this and one year wore the Port magpies guernsey would you go and watch them play?

Could have sworn the club was formed from the Nine/Ten SANFL Clubs and that is who make up the SANFL .

The linkage is clear.

Not sure why we need to worry about it too much though. We shouldn't be ashamed that we are a relatively young club and our only real heritage jumper is our first one which is still the current home and away jumper.

Speaking of heritage, do you reckon you'll finish 12th again?
12th would be better than 3rd Porthos cause you get the draft picks

If you want me to describe what actually wininng a flag or even your first final in the AFL feels like, just ask.

Jars, I am sure that once you Crow blokes finally come to terms with the fact that Port Adelaide (est 1870) is now playing in the AFL, you can then spend all your time more constructively working out a way of beating us.

Have a good day.
