Next dominoes to fall are Matty Crouch, Lynchy and CEY.

I would like to see a 10 year package for Crouch (5 to Matty and 5 to Brad).

We also need to sign Griggy provided that he doesn't decide to retire and take up full time landscaping .

It would be nice to have everyone signed before the Geelong match and then put the pressure on Patty to pony up.

I fear that in round 22 there will be Patty-Cam at Costa Stadium. Before the match and at every break a "reporter" will interview Patty to determine whether he has made up his mind. Once he gives the thumbs up they will show a highlights package of Patty in a Geelong jumper on the scoreboard.

(Danger aside) Grigg, Wright, Kerridge are the signings I'm most interested in

In the context that I think the rest of our out of contract players are either on the delist/retire pile or required players unlikely to go anywhere.

These are the 3 who could either be considering a move home (kerridge) or be seen as expendable by us and happy to wait and see if we can get any trade value.

Crouch?
Lynch?

On the delist pile?

I assume one of Shaw or Otten will be gone at the end of the season. I've mentioned in previous posts how I wanted Shaw to play and Otten also maybe come finals, but in saying that I think Talia/Hartigan/Lever as our 3 key defenders then Cheney as that medium who can possibly play on either tall or small.

So of course you need depth in case of injuries of course, in saying that sign one for a year and delist/try trade the other. Then try either draft another one along the lines of Lever or through free agency.

Contracted until end 2015
Scott Thompson (10+ yrs)
Patrick Dangerfield (8yrs)
Cameron Ellis-Yolmen
Matthew Wright
Mitchell Grigg
Sam Kerridge

Andy Otten
James Podsiadly
Riley Knight
Kyle Hartigan (anyone clarify?)
Matt Crouch

Sam Siggins
Rory Atkins
Tom Lynch
Jack Osborn
Sam Shaw
Brodie Martin
Anthony Wilson
Reilly O'Brien
Keenan Ramsey
Jake Kelly

Obviously there's still a while yet this in this season/finals to go before we need to start worrying about the futures of these players but I assume if we wanna push towards top 4 the next 3-5 years these are the blokes we must sign on.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen - 3 years - 200k a season (Has huge upside and proven clearance king at the top level, teams will definitely be interested in his services)

Mitch Grigg - 2 years - 450 over 2 years (Elite user of the ball, would love him to be a one club player as he's obviously going to find it tough getting games before Betts and Cameron but he'll get another game before seasons end)

Sam Kerridge - 2 years - 450 over 2 years (Same contract as Grigg simply cos they're 20 and 27 games respectively and have proven their worth. Another great clearance player and can snag a goal or two as well as play as a tagger so many uses for this bloke, sign him and DO NOT put him as trade bait)

Riley Knight - 4 years - 600 over 4 years (Great speed, great kick, great intensity, great tackling. This kid has it all to be a 200+ gamer for us. Sign now)

Kyle Hartigan - 3 years - 250k a season (Probably not an out and out superstar but has shown he can definitely play as our 2nd/3rd tall for the next 5-8 years with Lever. I assume talls are worth more than say your average pocket/wingman but I'd gladly have him on a salary around 250. Definitely better than some of our previous defenders in L.Thompson and Shaw)

Matt Crouch - 4 years - 1.2mil over 4 years (Assume a lot of you will jump at me for this amount for Matty but he and Brad are apart of our next run at a flag and very important we treat them well as they'll treat us very well too)

Tom Lynch - 4 years - 1.4mil over 4 years (Can play small or tall really, great tank and although he's probably not your 50 goal a year main forward he's 18 touches, 1.4 goals and 7 marks weekly average is above average for a forward flanker. Worth every cent and for all you haters/doubters he's a key part to that flag run also)

Reilly O'Brien - 3 years - 500k over 3 years (Hasn't played a game yet so tough to call on the amount but he's going to be a premiere ruckman in the league in a few years. He needs to be given a game before years out so we can assess how good he actually is at the minute)

You don't give these sorts of contracts to players who have played 2 and 0 games

Im starting to wonder why the club is not signing up players like Lynch, Crouch, CEY well before now.
Might be that they are holding off because they intend to possibily trade them out if a good offer comes their way.

Would those last two depend on danger?

They wont trade any of those guys IMO. If we lost Danger and with Thommo inevitably slowing down they would be needed. Lynch is in negotiations apparently, maybe we are waiting to see how much money Danger needs.......
