Any one see the problem in 2017, not in the re-signing but in de-listings as in who. try to pick 5.
Do we need to restrict this year to 5 outs and put a couple on 1 year contracts. to give more room to move in 2017 including Jaensch plus 4 more,
looking at Main list only not rookie.

Otten, Shaw (who may retire this year), Henderson (FA), CEY and maybe Kelly as of now for 2017 delistings.

We do only need to delist 3 i think at a minimum.

I hope we can sign Betts, Brown, Lever, Knights, Milera and McGovern up before Chrismas this year and then concentrate on getting the rest done if and when threy prove they need a contract extension.

We rarely do and with Edwards and bumper crop of Kids due we would want more than 3 picks,
But the problem I see is if we delist all those players we restrict our drafting or trading to defenders. rather than best players,
 
Agree that we usually make more than 3 changes.

Here is our record from the last 5 years:
2015 - 7 changes - 2x draftees, 4x trades, 1x rookie promotion
2014 - 7 changes - 4x draftees, 2x trades, 1x rookie promotion
2013 - 6 changes (even with Tiprat penalties) - 2x draftees, 1x free agent, 1x trade, 2x rookie promotion
2012 - 4 changes (even with Tiprat penalties) - 2x draftees, 1x trade, 1x rookie promotion
2011 - 11 changes - 4x draftees, 5x trades, 2x rookie promotion

The average is about 6-7 changes per year, though the number of new draftees has averaged around 3 per year.

The thing is, all those names have trade value. Well, maybe not Shaw, but the rest would all have some interest from some clubs at least. I'd like to see us trade 2, if not 3, for a star midfielder, but I don't know of any good midfielders who have an interest to be traded to Adelaide. Maybe if they look at our forward and back line, they might think we're a gun midfielder away from a premiership and want to come to us because of the lure of success. Maybe.. then again, maybe not...
 
Which of these 2 rookies is most likely to get a senior game, Greenwood or Beech?

McGovern and Lever are contracted for next year after both signed one year extensions to their initial deals.

Menzel, Seedsman, Hampton and Gore surely would have signed a 2+ year deal when they were traded in.
