SS I think that's it in a nut shell. They wouldn't have probably said anything publicly if it hadn't became a news item. But to protect their sponsors they had to be seen to do something. This has been the toughest year for sponsors (just look at Port) and it doesn't take much to have companies take their $$$ elsewhere.

Another good point Jen - whatever Phil's personal view is there is no doubt a need for him organistionally to make a statement like he did.

I'm not saying I like it.. but that's the environment Bernie is choosing to work in. if he doesn't like it he doesn't have to be there. He could go back to playing cricket ;)

Same here. I'm pretty sure privately Phil would have a had a chuckle and said what we have all thought "nice choice of mates you dick" or some such thing. Professionally he had to play it differently.

For what it's worth I reckon Daniel Connors would be stoked to be traded/redrafted to us at the end of the season.

As Ned Flanders would say- don't you think he's a little bit too "peppermint" for the AFC? Not saying I wouldn't take him, but do you ever think the Crows would consider it?

What makes you say that? I wish we traded for him during trade week.

I saw a Twitter conversation between him and Taylor Walker some time ago. Just made it sound like he'd much rather be playing elsewhere - like with his mates, who I think include Tex as well as Bernie and Jaensch. About an hour after that, I read a thread on the Richmond board that Connors was on his last chance after another curfew/behaviour issue.

He'd be a risk for sure, but I don't see him remaining at Richmond at the end of the year. Could possibly be worth a punt in the RD or PSD.

Of course this is all just my speculation, I really shouldn't be thinking of the draft at this stage haha.

EDIT: news Final chance for troubled Richmond midfielder Daniel Connors

Doesn't look good after reading the end of the thread.

Wait till his tank comes on.

Has the frame to carry more weight and already plays like a battering ram. Also still getting into the jist of AFL life as he's pretty quiet.

Best thing for him, is he'll be a full year ahead of his draft crop with training, and he'll have big body experience.

Get down to see him this year!

Tom Lynch's pizza, in the bin, not eaten and the worst tasting thing I've ever had!

@bvince17 thanks for having me over mate, congrats on the MOM tonight.hhahah nice photo to I'll see if I can pinch one of his bats for you

Tom Lynch's attempt at food poisoning will hopefully be unsuccessful. Perhaps he'll be able to convince Patto to become a Crows supporter rather than a Swan, so he can take over as No 1 ticketholder when Lleyton retires.
