We must have agreed to not draft any SANFL players in the mid-season draft to avoid a player facing his old side at SANFL level. Which is another weak move when we could’ve added some pace in Noble to our squad, and seen how he started to develop in an AFL system.

I'm not sure that is right.
The paper talk all the week leading up to the mid season draft was the Crows would take L Hosie. North Melb had a pick before us and took him but if he was there I'm sure the Crows would have taken him. Perhaps they just didn't feel Noble was what we needed because we actually passed before Collingwood swooped.
I strongly doubt there was an agreement in place.

Seems like the exact thing we’d roll over for. And the only player either SA side selected was an existing Port man.

You don’t reckon there was ONE eligible player Hamish liked?

Hamish is on record as saying he was very much against the mid season draft. Feels a good team plans for potential injuries and has a good injury prevention programs.

It wouldn’t surprise if we did have a bit of an agreement not to draft any SANFL lads.

We do have a history of going 1-2 short on a list too though, so wouldn’t surprise as we legitimately weren’t interested, it’s not as though we had a great pick in the draft.

What? Top end picks is talent ID, trading was s**t, we overpaid and undersold and his position didn’t appoint coaches, the board does that. At Brisbane, he’s not Talent ID, the coach was employed before he was and their trading is evens at present. Brisbane will flatline because Noble will have infested the footy culture with his anti-ruthlessness and patented stat-o-matic system. Nothing more certain.
Just for you, couldn't help myself... ;)

Refreshing to see this reaction from an SANFL club instead of the usual whinging

......the usual whinging........
This current AFL myopic thought fart is the biggest load of s**t that is being farted out continuously with f*** all basis and no context. It’s s**t like this that Josh Jenkins farts out without any perspective to the bigger issue.

There isn’t one SANFL club that has an issue with players being developed and drafted into the AFL. The issue was and only ever has been how the MSD affects the State League Competitions all across the country, the total lack of valid compensation given and the AFL ignoring all concerns put forward. The very same arguments were continually put forward by VFL clubs, I heard Mark Williams, Gary Ayres and other VFL coaches explain the problems and their concerns numerous times over just as SANFL officials voiced theirs.

Yet all we get is inane thought farts spewing the same old rhetoric.

Interestingly, the SANFL clubs use the lure of a possible AFL drafting as the way to entice players from their local clubs, their country clubs and from other sports.

Then complain that it should only be done on their terms at a time that suits them and gains them significant compensation.

"We have no problem with players being drafted into the AFL but... <insert actual opinion on the matter>"

Haha, yeah the guy who was concussed gets the chop, classic.
Yep if they gave him the week off I could completely understand..... but to drop him ??

Especially since he looked really lively, if a little wasteful in the first quarter.

Good selection should win this week and make the finals Blighty agrees

after finishing 12th last year would be a good bounce back and get the most out of the aging players

because when they are gone our drafting is bad and we will be destroyed
