That didn’t really have an effect on the game

More hoping horse is actually the right bloke to get them over the line

Starting to have my doubts on him , had a great box in 12
I am certain that next year we will see a drop off after that season ending like that.
If that means finals then so be it. It will be a measure of the club if we can make the GF again but I think that was a demoralising loss with demons that will be carried into season 2023.
Hope I am wrong.

Back to AFFIRMATIONS...

Warner will go to another level and be All Australian next year. Rowbottom will have the year that Warner had this year, before going to another level and being All Australian in 2024.

Kinnear Beatson and Simon Dalrymple will both be mentioned in two separate speeches on Brownlow night in 2025.

Have not read or contributed to the GF Autopsy thread. Doubt I will.

We did well to make it given the inexperience. That said I really hope coaches and footy department had a very hard look at their own performance. Personally I think we lost the GF over five and a bit quarters counting the PF.

Can't say as I agree Ted. Cats lost the prelim last year to pretty much the same margin as we lost the GF this year and they came out and proved a point - in devastating fashion, I think we have the talent to do the same.

That is a big statement, the effect may have been more pronounced before the actual game. I think it certainly affected the psyche of the team. Horse should NEVER consider injured players for a GF again.

Easy to say.

With no substance behind a comment like that I am surprised that I replied.

Easy to say something wouldn't surprise me? yeah , not like I claimed he was off,or any inside info, so why would it need substance.

so yeah your reply was pretty pointless, but here we are

I am totally NOT resisting the urge to tell everyone not posting affirmations to shove their crybaby pessimism up their arses

One player I'm very excited about watching in 2023 is [PLAYERCARD]Callum Mills[/PLAYERCARD]. I think he he has another level he can go to, which is saying something considering he's already our most complete player. But I think the main area he can be even greater as a player is in his leadership.

I was just watching the preliminary final (after which point our season just ended? So random..) and we won a HTB free kick on the wing. Mills scoops up the loose ball and takes the advantage, when there's absolutely no advantage, and adds salt to the wound when his long bomb goes a mile out on the full. It was the dumbest moment I've seen from a Swan in 2022. You could tell the moment just kinda got to Mills and he wasn't thinking. You can tell that with more experience as a captain in those sorts of moments, those situations will be more natural for him.

Even in his quiet games, they were far too quiet, to the point of being poor, which I think a team, particularly a young team, can ill-afford from their captain. Round 3 vs Bulldogs, round 16 vs Essendon, the grand final. Not coincidentally we lost badly in all of those games. He'll narrow that gap so that the games where he's not necessarily starring, he's still being a solid player. You look at Parker and though his ceiling is not necessarily as high as Mills, he never disappears in games like that. He's had years and experience to reach this point.

All of the above sounds like I'm being critical, which is not my intent. He is our best player by some measure now (sorry Heeney). I am just nit-picking because I think he will be even better than he already is.
