Where and when: Adelaide Oval, Saturday, June 13, 7.20pm ACST (7.50pm AEST)

Adelaide Forecast
1.PNG

Partly cloudy. The chance of some early morning fog patches, mainly about the northern and eastern suburbs. High (80%) chance of showers, most likely from late this morning. Winds northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h tending westerly in the middle of the day then becoming light in the late afternoon.

What it means for Adelaide: This is a huge opportunity for the Crows (7-5) to push themselves into the top four on the back of their stunning win against Greater Western Sydney last Saturday night.

What it means for Richmond: The Tigers have to pick themselves up off the canvas after back-to-back losses to North Melbourne and Geelong. A third straight defeat will have the Tigers clinging to their spot in the top-eight.

The stat: The Crows hold a 24-14 advantage in the overall meetings between the two clubs, but 13 of those wins came from 15 games between 2000-10. The Tigers have won two of the last three against the Crows, including the 2017 Grand Final.

The match-up: Josh Jenkins v Dylan Grimes
Jenkins has returned to form since having a stint in the SANFL. He's the second-ranked Crows key forward in the Official AFL Player Ratings (171st overall). Grimes is the second-ranked small to medium defender at the Tigers (#169 overall), but he'll get the job on Jenkins.

It’s a big week for: Matt Crouch
The Crows midfielder plays his 100th career game. The 23rd pick in the 2013 national draft, Crouch is averaging 31.6 disposals per game this season and made a successful return from a hip injury in last weekend's win against Greater Western Sydney.

Matt Crouch will be a factor in the midfield battle on Thursday night. Picture: AFL Photos

Big call: The Crows to get out to a big lead at three-quarter time before hanging on for a close victory.

Prediction: Crows by 12 points

I can feel an upset here, Richmond with an interstate trip with backs against the wall. Terrible performance against Geelong and will come out breathing fire.

Martin as captain will have a huge night

The Richmond team structure is a lot better than the crows.

So it will come down to Team Structure versus more experienced players on the field

Have no idea why the Crows are copping a 5 day break into this. Isn’t the whole point of the bye round Thursday games to avoid these?
Reckon our only hope is if that ****s them around, otherwise I just don’t think the kids have enough in them before the bye.

Will not be close. Adelaide by plenty. 9 of our best 22 out including 8 of our top 10-12 players.

Riewoldt
Cotchin
Rance
Lambert
Astbury
Nankervis
Short
Ross (had cemented himself in our best 22 as the big bodied inside mid we lacked)
Edwards

We're just riding the storm till the bye. Take the equivalent players out of any team and they'd be struggling. I'm surprised we're still top 8.

First game in a very long time that a loss by under 30 points would feel like a win for us. Have to go back to 2011 days for times like that.

We will have a crack early, but if Adelaide get a 3-4 goal lead before half time it will get ugly. We havn't fought games out at all once the result was clear, and this is by far the worst team we have put out. People talking about an upset are kidding themselves, we beat Port without the big 4 playing, but we had Nank, Edwards, Astbury and Lambert playing, we have lost out next tier of players as well this time.

Not going to be a fun night for Tigers. Bigfooty will love it though.

Edit: Soldo now out with the flu apparently, in comes Chol for his second career game.

If Richmond win this game given the amount of players out then surely it would have to rank as the Tigers best home and away win ever under Hardwick.
I just don't see how it's any chance against almost a full strength Adelaide at AO. Doedee and Lynch are the only two players listed as unavailable on the list. There's a lot of players and fans there that are going to love this one tonight, I reckon a few would still be pissed about 2017.

Only very good sides can overcome injury lists like that.

Massive game this one, almost an 8 point game for both sides, run a line through the loser for 2019 IMO, at least for top 4 aspirations.

We had a terrible performance against north and only gave a whimper for 1qtr against Geelong.

If you don't comprehensively smash us tonight then it's basically a failure.

Reckon Richmond have put the cue in the rack until after the bye, hoping to come home strong and have a crack from outside the top 4.

Unfortunately for them, they can't do too much damage outside the top 8, which is where I've predicted them to finish since the start of the season.

It wasn't Collingwood since grundy pendles and sidebottom played 26 25 and 26 games respectively last season.

Better luck next time frankie
With 8 of Richmond's best 10 (or 12) out, which of these players aren't in their top 10 (or 12)?
