Autopsy AFL 2019 Round 17: Essendon v North Melbourne - Walla wins it

Come on, I love Hurls but that was a great bump and nothing wrong with it

It was a great bump and north were really attacking our players with lots of physicality. I really don't like how they are happy with Hurley sustaining an injury that is just bottom feeder stuff.

You mean where Zurhaar charged Hurley who didn’t know he was coming? Cheap shot really.

Let's see what the match review Michael Christian robot makes of it shall we?

North was 6 months older & had 20 more games experience on the weekend.

That's probably just Goldy himself - Zurhaar, Thomas, Curtis Taylor, Larkey, all under 25 games, Simpkin with 50 maybe. Then there's proven quality talent outside the line up in Bailey Scott, LDU, Will Walker.

The clock is ticking on Essendon, loaded up hard and traded out of the draft, gotta at least win a final with this list.

If you don't, you'll be back in "Let's get a Messiah with a brainwave for a shortcut to success!" territory and the Same Olds won't survive another big scandal.

Our team was younger and less experienced. Also our VFL team full of young talent is on top of the ladder. I know which team has a brighter future and it doesn't rhyme with lose.

Only one rising star nomination this year - for Dylan Clarke.

His brother got one of them early on too, I expect Dylan's career to pan out the same way given his only ability to hanging onto better players.

Both teams had 5 players with -50 games.

North had +5 players with +100 games & +3 players with +200 games.

North also had the top 4 players for most games played.

The clock is definitely ticking.

Dude stop it

You couldn’t beat us with Daniher, Heppell, Smith, Bellchambers and Ambrose out, not to mention Hurley missing most of the second half, to put that into perspective for you, that’s 3 best and fairest winners, a number one ruckman and the number one lockdown defender, if you couldn’t beat us on the weekend then it won’t be happening anytime soon.

They were amply replaced by Chamberlain and co.

I shall watch with interest. Our season was cooked when we started it with Scott.

Luckily we've managed to spend it getting game time into gun kids and raking in Rising Star noms.

(Oh, and we smashed Collingwood. Young talented teams like ours are vulnerable to losing games against lesser opposition like you, it happens)
And we smashed you. Our rising star nominee smoked your 'elite' best North player in his 7th game. If we had a full strength side, we'd have wiped you on the floor again

We were younger and with less experience.

When we had most of our full team we smacked you around the park.

Must burn knowing you are so far behind us.

What are you talking about? On average we were 6 months younger than you on the weekend. You had 12 players over 100 games on the weekend we had 7.

Clarke 20, McGrath, Parish, Francis, Redman, Guelfi all 21, Langford 22, Laverde, Merrett and Fantasia 23, Gleeson and Saad 24. More than half our best 22 not in their prime and the older players are the ones who aren't performing.

Not sure Ryan Clarke had the scalps of Cripps, O’Meara, Parker and the great Cunners in his first half dozen or so games. Go lie down and have a rest

You lot thought you were definitely going to be top four after topping up with Dylan Shielsteps.

Its OK, beating us is as close as you'll get to winning a final so enjoy it Bomberinos.

We are closer to the top 4 than you are to the 8, lol Norf

Great game of footy on Saturday, loved seeing the Kanga supporters cry at the end! I have watched the last two minutes about 15 times!
