On reflection it’s hard to take too much from the game for the tiges besides a coveted top 4 spot. Collingwood have been no good for the best part of 2 months save for a quarter against west coast although that was more west coast losing than Collingwood winning. We will have a much better understanding of where we sit after games against good teams in west coast and Brisbane. Still you have to love how big Tom and jack are combining now and the youngsters who have come on this year. On the pies they had their glory months, however it’s now time for them to take their rightful mediocre place and let the big boys fight it out for this year’s flag.

I’m tipping with a full side Buckley has nothing to fear when we next meet.
You should have smashed us after QTR time.

Now people are really question how good Rich are - as others have said it was hardly a flattering performance.

Correct !!

They have questioned how good richmond are ater last nights performance and instilled richmond as flag favourites

Richmond taking the foot off the pedal was so evident that the entire football community seen it as richmond applying the mercy rule

Nankervis Caddy Cotchin Higgins Rance all best 22 players not playing and Stack Bolton Chol Soldo Baker with less than 20 games

Alo love the way Pies supporters keep naming Wells as missing , He has played less than 20 games in 3 years and probably will retire this year

Its like if we named Grigg as missing due to injury.

Order has been restored

Tbh they won the free kick count again, they have won 37 on the trot so why are they blaming umpires

Are Collingwood player more worried about there defensive position rather than tackle or apply pressure. I see some times they try to run in front of the player with the ball instead of going for the tackle. And when we do tackle it’s soft as.

It's not how many frees a team gets but where they get them - from a neutrals point of view thought the umps paid Richmond a couple of soft free kicks in front of goal, particularly in the first quarter. That's what gets supporters so frustrated at times, as the umps are just so inconsistent with their decision making.

To be fair, the Pies got 2 absolute gifts as well. Cox AND Grundy as well. Big difference is that we converted our shots, Pies shanked theirs.

Time running out very quickly for Collingwood if they want to make anything out of this season. Richmond far better last night, and they weren’t even playing their best footy. Hopefully we get another crack at it against them in September. That’s the one that will really hurt if we lose, but doesn’t appear likely to happen with the way Collingwood is going about it at the moment.

Happy to cut the Pies some slack with your massive injury toll. Some very valuable players missing for Collingwood last night.

But these injuries, especially soft tissue injuries have been a problem at The Pies for years now.

Makes you wonder what is going on ? Has to be more to it than simple bad luck

Either the wrong program at the club, or simply recruited injury prone bodies. Can’t keep being bad luck.

Regardless, it was 22 v 22 last night and Richmond’s was better. Also believe Buckley was comprehensively outcoached again - only recently have I seriously questioned his selection choices, but 1-2 of last night’s was seriously concerning.

Tigers went into the game missing 5 best 22 players in Rance Nankervis Caddy Higgins McIntosh & lost Cotchin in the first quarter. Until about 2 minutes to go in the second quarter we were belting the Pies as we led by near 8 goals before we effectively took the foot off the gas in the second half and simply kept them at arms length for the remainder of the game.

FWIW both teams had 15 of the 22 that played in the prelim playing last night, the difference is that those that have come in to the Tigers line up are playing better footy at present than the replacements that the Pies have had to use.

But in recent years you’ve buried sides that was you modus operandi- you smashed teams by over running them.
It’s not in your DNA to take the foot off the gas.

So yes it should be a great concern you couldn’t bury the weakest side we’ve fielded all year.

I don’t think our players have a thing to fear if we can get our key and depth players back - we resemble a VFL side right now.

We were one rotation down from halfway through the first quarter and played a high intensity first half which effectively ended the contest, outside % there was little to be gained by going flat out until the final siren, so we simply maintained a gap for the second half and cruised to a win.

You speak about if they were to add in those that were missing and there would be nothing to fear, but add in the Tigers missing players to our line up from last night and we also improve our side and I'd suggest it's a bigger improvement than what the Pies would get.

Yeah but at least with most of Richmond's premierships they were televised, soon there won't be much people left alive who remember most of Collingwood's premierships

The history of our game in whatever form is valued as are the flags won by respective clubs.
So trying to diminish our achievements as a club is like attempting to devalue the history of the game.

There is no way you win this argument.
