Can anyone tell me how two Hawthorn players can run through the mark seconds after each other and not be pinged for a 50? One of the strangest non calls this year.
They were within 5cm of a Geelong player who veered across the mark while the Geelong player was going back.

Correct call. Would have been a bullshit 50.

There's possibly been only two players I've seen in 30 years of watching football who are better than Gary Jnr. Those players are his father and Wayne Carey.

Leigh Matthews was before my time, but from what I've been told by guys who've been around longer than me, Matthews played similar to Ablett Jnr.

I'm not a fan of the Abletts as people. I think Jnr. is the best of a bad bunch. But as footballers, I've loved what the Abletts have done for my club. I don't let loyalty or disdain, whichever way I choose to lean, affect how I view Ablett as a footballer.

Anyone discrediting Ablett's football credentials based on irrelevant stuff like his religious beliefs, his father's dodgy history or anything else, is mounting an intellectually compromised argument.

Well I don't like people who wish eternal suffering on people just because they are gay, based on some 2000 year old fairytale
If you are referring to Folau, I don’t think he actually “wished” eternal suffering on people. If he had said that I would agree with you. I believe he said that’s where they were heading if they didn’t mend their ways. Bit of a difference.
I certainly fall under a couple of the categories of sinners he mentioned. But it doesn’t worry me too much.

Both quarters see Geelong run over the top.

Howe looks absolutely cooked.
I'm impressed with Hawthorn given how many injuries they have. Their huge weakness this year has been their propensity to fade late in quarters which is exacerbated by the end of games.

Yeah i agree. But footy fans get worked up in game. Ive not seen much of that outside of threads like this.

Gaz jr is a homophobe AND one of the best ever.

We are simply not there right now. Looking tired , cannot stop fumbling, are not using Wyngard or Bruest properly, it looks like every man for himself from the Hawks. We have two big outs in the backline but no excuse , we have a way to go to get to Geelong's standard, its all there just not joining up, Geelong look better drilled and just experienced a little better, and on the floor we're ok but not strong enough, can't hold tackles!

I don't know if there is more there for the Hawks to give today , they look spent and outplayed, when they put the ball in the forward line I think they should be just getting the ball on the ground and taking chances they get out marked , I see this a lot, Geelong seem to keep holding those marks, and we never seem to be around when the ball gets knocked to the ground, a couple of times in centre bounces with Ben in the centre he is keeping us alive and a couple of dashes from Worpal , but generally we fumble and fiddle . We don't seem to have anyone taking the attack side of the centre bounces, just Cats, our blokes seem to be fumbling on the defensive side of the centre bounce.

Love to see some simple football, when you can't win in the air , you must bring out the mosquito squadron typed play.
Win it on the ground , be there first, Alan Jeans used to say on the ground "that's where the game is played"!!!!

Precision though is the key in the game itself these days, everyone , everyone seems to have that fumble around now.
If I was Roughy I 'd be punching the thing to the ground , use Poppy Wyngard and Bruest, be nice to get it the hell out of those pockets that appear dead all the time!
Forget the ladder, take risks..... attack attack attack.

Oh, Danger still gets looked after, and the rules are still unfathomable sometimes?

True.
In the literature of falou's religion what he said was correct. It's not like he singled out one group in the whole context of his post. It's almost as if religious beliefs are now second fiddle to everything else.
I'm not religious so hell awaits me but I'm not gonna have a sook about it either.
