Bull. If you grab the ball and instantly get one arm pinned, you aren't required to get rid of it correctly, you had no prior to be tackled.
Bigfooty worries me sometimes
Must dispose by hand or foot.

Hands held, the foot comes into action.

If neither used, incorrect disposal.

It may not have mattered to the outcome, but Stephenson should've been pinged. Umpires need to be held to account over stuff like that. It had a massive bearing on the end result. Plus, as fans, we all like to watch a fair and even contest during the dying stages of a match.
Having a bit both way aren’t you? First you say “ It may not have mattered to the outcome”, then you say “ It had a massive bearing on the end result”. Which is it?

By the way the Bombers and the supposed “ neutrals” have nothing to whinge about.

Lmao leave it up to a bunch of supposedly grown men to get themselves worked up over people choosing to boo at a game of football. This is a ******* entertainment product at the end of the day, not an actual Anzac ceremony.

Snowflakes.
Anyone using the term snowflake needs to have a good hard look at themselves

they were protests about the umpiring, nothing personal against Pendles. Buckley was an idiot to suggest so much
Lots of booing when Pendles was near the microphone, none when Bucks approached.

I can see why you want to believe that, unfortunately I don't agree.

Quote the rule for me, I dare you. I've had this fight with so many nuffies on here and I win everytime. You don't need to correctly dispose of it if you haven't had prior opportunity. There would be 400 frees a game of you needed to.

The only good thing to come of this is that the spotlight will be pointed on why HTB is not being paid this year? Why allow so many throws.

It's been going on all season. Steve Hocking explain that one will you.

My thoughts quickly return back to Anzacs today - tomorrow will be a different story

Watched much footy? They've been paying that exact sort of tackle as holding the ball for years. But wow good on you for sitting on a high horse and calling out everybody else on here when you have no idea mate.

Wrong, see my other post. Prior opportunity trumps incorrect disposal.
I get you are going to follow this one through, but if that’s your line mate you have your facts wrong. Incorrect disposal is a free kick even with no prior so long as it doesn’t come out as a direct result of the tackle.

You're required to make a genuine attempt.

Shoveling over your shoulder is not a genuine attempt.

The scenes and booing at the final presentation was very poor, agreed.

However... had we won a game in those circumstances, I wouldn't blame the opposition for being a bit feral. It only takes a few dickheads in the crowd to start and then so many sheep just follow along.

Back to the game... was a classic. I think both clubs (yep, with Collingwood and the four points) can take a fair bit away from that.

If this is true, why boo when Pendles was talking? The game is over, what happened was still disrespectful however you approach this.

Lots of Bombers fans bad losers.

You need prior opportunity before you get called holding the ball. Why do so many people on here, Bigfooty being a congregation of the most passionate of AFL fans, not know this?! That Stephenson incident is not holding the ball, he didn't have prior.
The umpire would pay it as Holding the Ball, incorrect disposal.
15.2.3 Holding the Football – Prior Opportunity/No Prior Opportunity
(a)Where the field Umpire is satisfied that a Player in possession of the football:
(i)has had a prior opportunity to dispose of the football, the field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against that Player if the Player does not Correctly Dispose of the football immediately when they are Correctly Tackled;
(ii)has not had a prior opportunity to dispose of the football, the field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against that Player if, upon being Correctly Tackled, the Player does not Correctly Dispose or genuinely attempt to Correctly Dispose
of the football after being given a reasonable opportunity to do so;
He did not correctly dispose of it nor correctly attempt dispose of it.
