Bull. If you grab the ball and instantly get one arm pinned, you aren't required to get rid of it correctly, you had no prior to be tackled.
Bigfooty worries me sometimes
But having an arm free constitutes prior opportunity because you have the ability to still kick the ball. Pinning one arm is the perfect tackle and is rewarded with a free 999 out of 1000.

Hardly a convincing win by Collingwood, if it went even one minute longer, Essendon probably would have won.

Not going to discuss the umpiring, but that 2nd half and especially final quarter fade out by the Pies should be troubling for Buckley. It cost them big time in last year's grand final.

I wouldn't be too crestfallen if I was an Essendon fan, they held their own after that garbage first quarter (which did cost them the win in hindsight)

Pendles still a champion at his age, and I loved Joe D's game today.

I get you are going to follow this one through, but if that’s your line mate you have your facts wrong. Incorrect disposal is a free kick even with no prior so long as it doesn’t come out as a direct result of the tackle.
It did come out as a direct result of the tackle though? You literally just explained why it wasn't a free kick.
Bloke without prior get tackle and ball gets thrown out as a result of the tackle.
Happens 100 times a game

Yeah essendon can be all happy with themselves but proof will be in the pudding in the coming weeks.

Same with any side which has an honorable loss

Essendon lost because in the last two attacking plays they kicked it to the opposition who marked it. Think it was tippa and Shiels.

Can't win a close game if you turn it over in the middle constantly.
Good post.

I’ll admit they had me worried a few times when it looked like they were about to pounce but they just keep handing it back to us when the game was on the line.

It was probably the umpires fault though.

The only good thing to come of this is that the spotlight will be pointed on why HTB is not being paid this year? Why allow so many throws.

It's been going on all season. Steve Hocking explain that one will you.

My thoughts quickly return back to Anzacs today - tomorrow will be a different story
Because the AFL want more flow into the game, which is understandable because the umpires blow the whistle every 2 seconds and ruin games.

Another one who lacks the understanding that a free kick count means nothing without context.

It was about the fees that werent paid to the Bombers in critical, game defining moments.
Ah yes, my mistake, game defining moments only occur in the last quarter and are only relevant for one particular team.

From a complete neutral:
Langdon non mark: correct decision
Baguley free (and goal) for Langdon holding on: Both holding- play on
Stephenson: definite incorrect disposal and free to Bombers
Definite HTB against Collingwood player (forgotten who) when everyone stopped.

If this is true, why boo when Pendles was talking? The game is over, what happened was still disrespectful however you approach this.

Lots of Bombers fans bad losers.
Because Bucks started talking about Anzacs and that clearly isn’t a time to show your displeasure is it?

If Pendlebury is such a 'Champion', then why does he need to duck into a pack of oppo players then play for the free (which is no different to diving!)?
Should be fined imo.
since when is bending over to pick up the ball from the ground ducking? you're a ******* idiot

Now this is the line people who think that's holding the ball should be taking, not that he incorrectly disposed of it because it's the subjective/contentious point.
So....you concede when you shovel the ball over your shoulder you havent made a genuine attempt and should be pinned?

And btw umpiring was poor but we gave you a 5 and a half goal win. That's what cost us.
